Places to lay down??

I'm goin' to Disneyland just for one day, and want to spend the most time in the park as possible - from opening to closing(9am - 10pm). But I'm a person who needs to relax completely every 5 hours. I'll need to lay down at mid-Day. I'd only go to my hotel if I can find a hotel with efficient bus service. Does anyone know of any(under $80 a night)?

If not, is there a place to lay down in DL or right outside(like that 'picnic' area west of the main entrance, or a grassy area?

I haven't been to DL in 9 years. I had an AP in '95 + '99, so I'm an expert in how to be efficient with the rides.

Well I dunno about laying down, but there are places that are a bit quieter for you to just sit back with a drink and barely be bothered.... In Toon Town down by Chip and Dales Tree house... Its usually empty down at that end, and there is the Pirate Island that can be fairly quiet in some areas. Or if you go into DCA you can go into the Hollywood back lot, and sit down by Monsters Inc. Its kinda quiet by the Mickey Fountain.

As for hotels, I would suggest looking to the Park Vue, Annabella, or Castle Inn and Suites.

Not sure when you're going but check the HoJo for a great rate at a hotel close enough to walk to and from in 7-10 min. As for laying down, they do have a picnic area outside the parks but I don't know what it's like. I've never even looked at it. :)

The picnic area is all concrete. Ground, tables, and benches...all concrete. But it's nice in there...secluded, with the monorail going overhead every so often. It's monitored...CMs come in often to check things out and whatnot, and there are lockers in there so you have that traffic. I would probably just sit and put my head down on my arms, but that's just me...but I think anyone doing that or lying down is going to have CMs checking to make sure the person is alive or sober etc...might not be so restful.

There really aren't hotels with *bus* service...I think there are two or three with dedicated shuttles...Candy Cane Inn is one. The rest you'll need to take ART or just walk; that's why the really close-by (and lower priced) hotels were mentioned just now, so you can just walk back before you get overly tired.

You could go walk to the GCH and lay down in the fireplace :) Or just chill on a couch. As much as it sometimes bothers me I do see people napping there. It could be noisey with the paino if someone is playing but that just relaxes me more :)

That is exactly what I was going to suggest! :)

Can I get in the GCH without a ticket for DCA? I thought the hotel was in DCA.

I was remembering in the 90's I discovered I could get into the pool area at the D hotel and I'd lay on a lounge chair. Nice quick break.:cloud9:

Enter the GCH via DTD.

The DTD GCH entrance is on the left across from the pizza/italian joint......the entrance is also next to a girls/ladies store....Sophia's or something....my daughter knows it but danged if i can remember the name of it or the name of the pizza joint. (ladies...help?)

The GCH lobby has some nice deep comfy chairs & is kinda dark....perfect for "resting".

GCH isn't inside any park so you don't need a ticket to get in. Anyone can go in and rest in the lounge area, DBF and I really enjoying that.

If you're only going to be in DL, then the GCA is much closer to walk to than the DL Hotel & pool area. Now, if you're park-hopping and in DCA, then the GCA is basically right there......you leave through that side entrance by GRR and you're in the hotel.

Another place to try is the baby care center on Main Street. I took a toddler in there once for a quick cool-down period, and there wasn't another person there other than the attendant.

The hotel has an entrance to DCA, but there's also an entrance from DTD. The hotel is really in DTD.

lol....it's Sephora and the entrance to GCH is between Sephora and what used to the the Libbby Lu store (now closed). Wonderful, usually quiet lobby at GCH with comfy furniture. Even in broad daylight, it's dim inside, but not in a bad way - very lodgelike.

The nurses station in WDW and DL parks have a cot in a private area that you can lay down for a while. It is not a hotel but it is a service offered guests. It is not totally private but still a quiet place if one is overwhelmed.

Well I have layed down in the nurses station, but that was because I was sick with a cold, and almost passed out in the line for Alice! lol

I think I'd just get a room if I felt I needed to nap. We do that, we always take a midday break. Grab some food, take a nap. Then head back for the evening. I can't imagine trying to do that in any public area! LOL

Sheraton Anaheim hotel and Candy Cane Inn have dedicated shuttles.
Others have mentioned hotels within walking distance (actually, you can walk to CCI as well.)

At GCH there are at least two little niches/alcoves that have couches and chairs, if memory serves. Actually, there's probably more as I didn't explore the hotel as much as the kiddos did. There is also a sun deck up there that overlooks the pools. It has chairs and tables, maybe lounges. That would be yet another option.
