We like to save money by bringing in food to the parks.

Where are some good spots to picnic?

In MK the fake grass.
In AK there is tons of seating by Flame Tree along the water
Any other good locations in both these parks as well as in Epcot and the Studios?

Tom sawyers island in MK...I frequently see people eating picnic food there at Aunt Polly’s. Also by Pete’s silly sideshow there are tables with umbrellas

Sunshine Seasons seating in EPCOT, I have taken stuff from other areas of the park to sit at a table inside while waiting on people, or people watching.

The Rivers of Light theatre was basically a huge picnic area last time we were there. We just wanted to sit down for a break before our next FP+ and it was filled with people with food they had brought it.

We often bring in lunch and then eat dinner at TS.

MK:
- A large area full of tables, many with umbrellas next to the water playground in Storybook Circus (bathrooms)
- Tomorrowland Terrace, covered large area & often closed, free to sit at (bathrooms)
- Tortuga Tavern, covered large area & often closed, free to sit at (bathrooms)
- Lots of picnic tables just past Pirate Adventure
- Tomorrowland next to the Speedway has a long row of tables, some with umbrellas.
- Tables, chairs & umbrellas on Center Street - the street to East of Main Street
- Upstairs at Train Station
- Small tables with charging stations by Rapunzel bathrooms
- Tom Sawyer Island

DHS:
- Lots of tables with umbrellas in patio that was Starring Rolls (next to HBD)
- Lots of benches that we have sat at and had our lunches. Once we sat on benches and watched LMA from behind buildings.
- Benches along Echo Lake
- Tables with umbrellas by Muppets that is across the walkway away from PizzeRizzo (bathrooms close)
- Outside seating for Backlot Express way over by Indiana Jones is often empty

AK:
- LOTS of Tables and Chairs in hidden spots/trails between Africa and Asia (used twice couple weeks ago - below)
- The farthest patios for FT closest to Asia are usually completely empty and not used
- Picnic tables in Dinoland by no food stations
- ROL theater if it is open
- DAWA Bar, tables often all empty and it's covered (bathrooms close)

Epcot:
- TONS of benches that work for lap eating. We pack our sandwiches in tupperware and they make great plates.
- Tables & Chairs by the outpost are often empty and not being used
- Tables and Chairs in plaza of Italy not for any restaurant
- Tables in front of America Pavilion are for the QS but I have NEVER seen more than a couple tables in use there. They way overbuilt. (bathrooms)
- Lots of spots along lake are easy to eat at.
- Inside space beside Character Spot. Inside, tables & chairs (bathrooms)
- A few tables up on first level of Canada, for the soda/chip counter but usually empty.

You would be surprised at all the nooks & crannies, with ledges or places to sit away from it all and enjoy your lunch or snack.

Beautiful photo, Hopper Fan.

I have to ask—were you subjected to wild bird attacks there? Asking because I would love to try the food at Flametree, but I’ve heard about too many bird attacks. (I have a bird phobia.)

I wonder the same thing because my daughter is bird phobic but we would like the food there

I’ve been robbed of food by scary birds twice while sitting near the water in AK. They come in big flocks and they try to take your food

‘Tis the stuff of nightmares! :scared1:

I got ambushed by some birds at the Yak & Yeti QS. After that, I swore no more outdoor meals at AK, but there are no birds in Hopper’s photo.

AHHH, Disney and birds, they are so much better than they were years ago, Pecos Bill used to be right out of the movie Birds.

There are birds walking around but honestly they get so much off the ground there they have no reason to attack or land on you. Maybe Y&Y has become the Pecos Bills of AK. One day we had a couple walking about, shift your feet and they'll keep moving. Other day had some laying along bank just outside fence and they wanted nothing to do with us. Flame Tree we have had them walk, again unless you offered food or are sitting by "that kid" who is giving them all his food and stirring up activity, we've never had a problem there.

I think the more empty the area you are eating
the fewer the birds you see.
They gravitate to the busy table areas for buffet style eating.

Now both days we sat there they let the Macaws go so they flew over us towards the tree but they were very high up.

PS DD is a bird hater but AK is her favorite park and never felt frightened by them.

My favorite place is in Epcot by the character spot near club cool. Inside, cold AC, outlets to charge devices, tables and chairs, bathroom, tinted windows to people watch if you want.

One time at the bathrooms at the Odyssey building near Test Track I saw a couple with a baby in a stroller just hanging out in the little hallway trying to escape the heat. Gave them the tip to head toward that building behind Club Cool and they'll enjoy it. Wife and I grabbed some nachos in Mexico and brought them back to the same building. Saw that couple in there and they thanked us because they had no clue of this area before.

YUP, forgot about that one even though we used it often. I'll have to add to my list.

That sounds like good advice, Hopper—look for the least crowded area and sit there.

Shiny black birds jumped right on our table at Y&Y. I had to sic my husband on them.

Last week we grabbed some bakery snacks and sat on the low wall in France, back behind the gazebo where Aurora meets. There's several benches there as well. It's quiet, but you can still people watch while you eat. We took a long break there and saw four different families come back there and pull out their little lunch bags to eat. It's a lovely spot to sit!

My daughter “hit the deck” in the middle of a walkway when the macaws flew over us randomly in the middle of the day. She hides in the stores when they do the park opening flyover. I think we will have to continue our tradition of inside dining at AK. Her fear is too great. She too loves the park. We will never see the bird show that’s for sure!

Wow. Feedback is amazing. Im going to compile all the info add include it in my planning sheets we will be bringing with us.

Thanks a ton all.
