We're going to St. Louis Saturday for the ball game, and I was hoping for some suggestions on places to grab lunch near the Arch and the stadium. I haven't been to St. Louis since the early 90's, so I'm pretty out of touch with the area.

Lots of choices.. all depends on what you want and if you want to walk or drive. Lot's of places downtown....

Below is a link for Schlafly... I was there this weekend it was great. Very comfortable, good food, dh loved the beer sampler.

below is another link with a similar question:

There are a few restaurants on Laclede's Landing down by the Arch. Lots of people are fans of Spaghetti Factory... me not so much, but it is ok.

Washington Ave. - I like Kitchen K., family members enjoy Wasabi too.

You can always hit up the White Castle for Sliders!!

Have a good time in town!

Oh.. I forgot ..

Taste of St. Louis is this weekend.. now that would be a great way to do lunch!!

We missed last year.. but have gone a couple of times and have had a great time! You might want to check it out!

:thumbsup2If you see a middle aged red head in a powerchair indulging in something quite tasty.. and a glass of wine.. that would most likely be me. :wave2:

hoping the rain blows over before I get downtown.
Also hoping the Cards have a slugfest.. hitting lots of homers on Saturday!!:thumbsup2

We are going to be in St. Louis in a couple weeks for marching band. I will have to keep an eye on this thread because we always have a hard time finding a place to eat between the prelims and finals. St. Louis downtown on a Saturday is pretty much a ghost town.

Awesome! Thanks for all the tips! We'll definitely have to check out the food fest!:thumbsup2

When we were in St Louis about 5 years ago we ate at the St. Louis Steak House. OOOO The Filet Mignom melted on your tongue.

The is also a pub very close to the arch Kinda a hole in the wall, but the food was outstanding!

Well, we never made it to Taste of St. Louis. It was too cold to wander around outside any more than we had to for the game & to go to the Arch for awhile. We ended up at Schlafly's Tap Room. It was very good. :thumbsup2 My husband had the beer sampler and enjoyed it, and we all loved our food! Thanks for the suggestion!

I am glad you enjoyed Schlafly's Tap room.. Yay! Did anybody try the Fish and Chips?

Sorry that the Cardinals did not win today....

We did make it down to Taste of St. Louis.. it was chilly and windy for sure.
However it did not stop the crowds. We had a great afternoon enjoying the food, the art and the music.
We enjoyed quite a few different things.. but the things that stood out for us were---- Onesto's fritto misto.. yummmm and Drunken Fish's combo plate.. and beignets from Eleven Eleven.. I think.. There were lots of different things to choose .. I was amazed how everything was so fresh.. and piping hot.
Anyway.. glad you had fun in St. Louis.

Glad both of you had fun! I SAW Hubert Keller LIVE. That was awesome!!!!:woohoo::yay::thumbsup2

We had alot of free samples of steak from "Jeff Ruby's" steakhouse in the Bread Company pavillion. That was good.;)

As far as the restaurant row, it was OK. We are eaters that do not enjoy ton's of sauces and half the places had ribs and too saucy.

Mamajoan, sounds like you made some good picks.:thumbsup2 I should have gotten the crepes. Next yr. I think I would go earlier.
