Places to eat? Grocery stores close by?

Need some help from my dis friends We leave soon! And while I have been to DL many times as a youngster (long ago) I have not been lately and never rented a car (never really stayed overnight) so do not know any good restaurants within the immediate area - any ideas? We are at the Fairfield Anaheim.

Also, is there a good grocery store to stop off at before we head to the hotel? We'll be coming from LAX.

Make sure 2 weeks or so in advance you sign up for Mimi's Restaurant eClub, as well as for Denny's in the area - they will email you coupons and specials....

Von's can be ordered from and free delivery with code EASY7 on orders over $50 but not sure if Fairfield Inn has accepted those deliveries for people if they are not yet in their room, etc. Does anyone know?

Tony Roma's is a good place to eat, as is Quiznos and McDonalds.

Personally, I stay away from Ihop and Captain Kidds.

Restaurant.com can, when having a sale, save you money for House of Blues. You pay a few dollars for a $25 coupon.

For grocery stores to make it simple i would get of I-5 and on to CA-91, get off on Harbor and go a block North to Henries, which will be on the left. That way you can get back on Harbor to go right, back toward DLR.

Also you can exit I-5 on Katella. Go West a long block past DLR and there is a Food4Less. Then turn around to go back to DLR. This is the closest Grocery Store to the resort.


For Restaurants, many choices in DTD and Gardenwalk. Plus lots on Harbor as you go South of DLR.

Jory, thanks for all the helpful information. I didn't know about about restaurant.com - very cool! And I just signed up for Mimi's - we have one near us in K.C. so am familiar with the food and that's a plus while on the road.

If you want to have a nice sit down meal, look into the restuarants in the Anaheim Garden Walk. A short 10min walk from Disney (321 W. Katella Avenue), there is California Pizza Grill, Jonny Rockets, Bubba Gump, Cheesecake Factory and a few others, it's a dying area though.
