Places to eat for first timer

I've been to Disney a bazillion so I can't believe it's so hard to choose restaurants for a first timer! A friend is coming to visit who has never been to Disney..and I want to show them all the awesome dining experiences you can have at Disney. I'm looking for more fun..nothing you have to dress up for.

I've been thinking San Angel Inn and Sci-Fi. Any other suggestions?

We took my family to 'Ohana's this last trip. They had been to WDW before, but a long time ago and as part of tour groups, so all they did was spend one day at each park and leave. All they talk about is the wonderful experience they had there - even my 25 yr. old bros rave about it! I also thing San Angel and Sci-Fi are good for atmosphere, but the food is pricey and not the best....maybe San Angel for drinks and appetizers??? Also, the sundaes at Sci-Fi are good enough for an ADR, too! If your friend is into characters, I would suggest Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Teppenyaki (sp?) in Epcot is great. You get both great food and entertainment all in one place...

Big River Grille & Brewery at the Boardwalk is also a good place to eat. I love the beers there, and the food has been above average everytime we've visited!

It's so hard to choose out of so many wonderful places!

I am trying to make someone a disney believer in 4 days so I'm trying to make them count.

Ohana is a good idea..maybe we'll do dinner there and watch the fireworks from the beach. That's what my friends and I used to do when we were on the college program.

I will keep you updated on what I decide

I'm curious about the Crystal Palace for breakfast. I've been there for dinner but never breakfast.

The California Grill offers the best views of the lagoon and MK and the service is outstanding and the meal is to die for

crystal palace is a great choice! so is 1900 park fare and 50's prime time cafe. good luck!

I like Whispering Canyon Cafe and the already mentioned Prime Time 50's for their fun antics. I also love Donald's Breakfastosaurus for a character meal (although Cape May Buffet at breakfast is nice and low key with Minnie, Goofy, and Chip). And always a family favorite for us is Boma -- dinner or breakfast.

Any place that has a view of fireworks while you eat (or can leave your table to see) will make a wonderful lasting impression of "the magic".

For a fun Disney experience, I'd recommend 'Ohana. We loved the food (our first visit there was this July) and the kids had lots of fun with the activities. Plus, since it's in the Polynesian, you can see a very classic Disney resort up close.

I think the Castle is a must for a first timer. Nothing is more Disney than the Castle. Go to Breakfast, I think they have better food at Breakfast.

The Luau is fun at the Poly. 'Ohana is also a good choice. Breakfast with Stitch, Lilo and of course Mickey is fun too at the Poly.

I like Whispering Canyon cafe, as well as Sci-Fi diner. We also enjoyed Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. There are so many good choices, it is hard to narrow them down!!!

I have no experience at the two you mentioned sorry! I did love these though, Narcoosse's for great meal, service and view of fireworks. For fun, we had a blast at Whispering Canyon great food and alot of laughs. Le Cellier DH was over the moon loved the food and service was great too! Coral Reef, the atmosphere is great with the fish tank and divers, but do get a tank table if possible and word to the wise make sure they know what you ordered! DH's mal was a complete disaster sadly, mine was fine! The food was great our server was on the forgetful side!

I spent quite a bit of time reading reviews and menus for our upcoming "Three Generation" Surprise trip. It will be a first time trip to WDW for many of us. Here's what I came up with:

Dinner at CRT (for the experience of eating in the Castle!)

Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe (for the funtime antics)

Breakfast at The Crystal Palace (great photo ops if you have an early ADR!)

Dinner at LeCellier (menu and atmosphere look great!)

Dinner at 'Ohana (family style sounds great for us!)

Breakfast at Chef Mickey's (for the classic characters)

I will totally disagree with this. been there 3 times and will not return.
