I'd love to see everyones placecards if they wouldn't mind sharing pictures :) also did you make them yourselves or have Disney do it?

I used Mickey Ears with their names embroidered on the backs. We used 2 of our wedding colors for the lettering, Orange for the males and Hot Pink for the females...they were a huge hit!

My DF is working on a Fast Pass design for placecards, but we aren't sure if its going to work out or what to put on them exactly. We thought of some cute revisions to what's normally on a Fast Pass, but we aren't sure if our guests will "get" the references.

Has anyone done that before? I'd love to see an example!

Thanks!

For my daughter's wedding we had a total of about 175 people attending so having that many placecards took some time. I wanted something original for them so I came up with this idea------since her wedding theme was an ice cave, I made individual seating cards and tied them to an icicle with ribbon and with the help of Disney Entertainment Dept. we had a 4 ft ice tree from the Narnia set at DHS brought over and hung each icicle from that tree. The guests had fun trying to find their name. I have not gotten a picture of that tree but I am still looking for someone who has. I was told that it was beautiful. Also, we didn't want the tables numbered, so my daughter came up with names of mythical creatures and each table was named for one of those.

We did something a little different for our place cards. Instead of typical cards, we used fresh Gerber daisies and attached with twine a hand written "leaf" that had the guest's name written on it. Everyone seemed to really love them and they made our table look great!

We actually used apples for ours. Had a placecard made with each persons name and table number and stuck it in a green apple (we didn't have a theme per say, but used all fall colors).

Here is a guest's picture of the table after most of the cards were taken. I loved the look of it when you first walked in and it was full.

Our wedding is not till 2012 but we're having a country-rustic theme and this is what we're doing for our escort/place cards.

Horseshoes with cards tied with ribbon and instead of table #'s the table will be named after horse breeds (arabian, quarter, gyspy vanner, etc..). There will also be pencil drawings of each of the depicted breeds on the tables.

I guess you can be as creative as you want!!!! :goodvibes

We went with a fairytale theme, and each of the tables was named after a fairytale land. On the place card table there was a little frog prince holding a sign that read:

"You're sure to find familiar faces
as you take your seat at these make-believe places."

Depending on the "place" some of the cards said "adventure awaits ..." "magic awaits ..." "enchantment awaits ..."

The frames were gold but I added a bit of sparkle with a metallic paint and glitter.

This is what I am doing for my placecards! :) They even have a tiny crystal on them, I am not sure if you can see from the picture.

Hey Sarah! I made my own and had coordinating ribbons for each dish. (Navy- Filet/Lobster; Pink- Chilean Seabass, shrimp &scallops; Silver- Chix; White- Specialty plate) I don't mind having done them, but looking back I had Disney do our menu cards and table cards so I think I should've sprung for them to take care of the placecards too because all would have been tied together with the swarovski that was in the centerpieces and on the cake. (Placecards done nder my exact instruction of course :lmao:) However, I saved a few hundred dollars and this is getting REALLY nit-picky! :thumbsup2

What Disney did for us:

I made our place cards and it was really simple to do. When we went for our planning session we stayed at the Poly. I asked the front desk if they could spare some plain room key cards. They had a few colors to choose from and I picked the yellow to go with my fall theme. They gave me 50 cards!! So I just printed out everyones names and table name on clear lables and stuck them on to the cards! Very simple and they looked gret and we thought it was very different. I found the leaf holdres on Ebay for a steal and when put together I think they came out great. Here's a picture:

I was just down there a few weeks ago and I asked for some and they said they couldn't due to the fact that they order the exact amount they need each week. 1. I find that hard to believe and 2. they were so rude about it and I went to 3 resorts. Then I gave up. But yours DO look lovely!

Thanks for the compliment!:)
What! That is ridiculous! I am so sorry that happened to you! I know for a fact they do not just have enough for the week. They had stacks of them at the Poly! They took out 3 kinds for me to choose from and wanted to give me more so I had extra! What resorts did you try, just curious?

I have a question, that I hope can be answered...
If you decide to make anything, like place cards, then how do they get to the table for the reception?

Do you have to set it up? Or do you give them to Disney?
And when?

:confused3

We're giving them stuff to set up ...like placecards and guestbook and such...the day before the wedding. There is a certain number of things that they will set up...

Our VR wasn't until 5pm so that morning I met with our planner. I gave her a box that had the place cards and holders and table name cards and holders. I was able to show her how I wanted them set up. They did a great job!
