Place to Stay in St. Augustine

We're taking DS 12 and DS 7 to WDW in June and thought we might drive straight to St. Augustine first, spend the night and then the next morning let them tour the fort before driving to Cocoa Beach for a few hours at the beach and then on to WDW. Would like a clean place to stay at St. Augustine. Anyone have any suggestions?

We stayed at a really nice Days Inn in St. Augustine when we stopped on our way to Disney last September. It was really clean, the rooms were a bit small but for just one night it was perfect. It came with a fridge and microwave and was pretty cheap. It was right off I-95 and had lots of places to eat. It took about a half hour to get to the fort in the morning but for the price it was well worth it.

We are staying at the Castillo Real at the Beach. It is about 5 years old and looks great. Had pretty good reviews on Trip Advisor and reasonable. I did get much better rates by calling than ones quoted on line (significantly lower). So I would call and compare rates.

There are a lot of hotel reviews on Trip Advisor for St. Augustine and St. Augustine Beach.

We stopped for an overnight stay at a new Fairfield Inn right off I-95 at the exit to go to St. Augustine beach. It was impeccably clean, the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and they had a nice b-fast in the morning. The beds were comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water.

I couldn't have asked for any more for a 1 night stop-over. Oh and the price was very reasonable.

Don't forget to stop at the Disney Outlet if you Kiddos are into pin trading. We bought pins last time for 2.99 or 1.99 each. I know they are cheaper on ebay but we liked knowing they were official. Great if also want a few t-shirts.
