Place to rest indoors while at the Park?

Hi,

This will be my first visit and I'm wondering if there is a place to rest indoors while at the park. In other words, we are staying off site, and if we get tired or it rains, is there a movie theater or similar where we could go for a while?

Also, do you know if we would need tickets ahead of time etc...

Thanks again for your help....

Regards, Bob

If you mean at the Magic Kingdom, YES! There is a great little movie place to relax and watch some classic Disney cartoons. It's called the Exposition Hall and it is located on the right just as you pass under the train station entering the park. The movie area is in the back of the building and not really easy to find, but well worth it for a break on a hot and/or rainy day.

In my opinion, Epcot is the best park to get stranded in. :cheer2: You can head over to Ellen's Universe of Energy, hang out in Innoventions, ride Journey into Imagination with Figment and then play in the Imageworks area, and then there is always shopping and fine dinning!

At the MK the theater that MidNite posted about is a great place, also there is The Hall of Presidents, and the new Mickey's Philharmagic show. For a nice rest for our feet, we always make a point to get on Tomorrowland Transit Authority, it is pretty long and very restful little ride (and I have never seen a line to get on! ;) ).

As far as MGM, I would head to any of the indoor attractions, like The Great Movie Ride (it is long, indoors and enjoyable for a rest), The Voyage of the Little Mermaid, or Muppet Vision 3-D.

At the AK how about any of the shows like The Lion King, Tarzan Rocks, or Wonders of Flight?

It is always a good idea to plan for down time, and if you can't get back to your hotel for a few hours (if you are going in the Summer) you are being very smart to find a place for resting during the day before you get there.

The great thing about the rain at Disney, it usually doesn't last long, it clears the parks out pretty good and cools things off a bit. :umbrella:

Have fun Jentham2000! :wave2: And, welcome to the DIS!!!

Wow!

Thanks everyone for your help and support. I really appreciate it....

This is a short notice vacation for us and we have a lot to learn in a short period of time. A BIG Thanks to this Board and it's Members!

We made the arrangements last week and we will be there from March 6 -12th. I don't think weather will be an issue, but, we are coming from upsate NY and we are just finishing with the cold (at times -20F) and snow. It will be a breath of fresh air for us in many ways....

Thanks again, Bob

This was the first thing that came to my mind and I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned yet. At MK, Carosel of Progress is a great way to get off your feet and out of the elements for 20 min or so!

There is a bed on the upper deck of the paddleboat in MK. It's in a tiny room in the center of the boat. My 11 yr. old DGD actually fell asleep in there and we have the pics to prove it!

Really? I had no idea! I love to learn new things! :cool1:

One year my daughter needed a break but she didn't want to leave the park to go back to the room (we stayed on property) so we rode the monorail for about 45 minutes without ever getting off. She ended up falling asleep! This rest enabled her to spend about another 4 hours in the park (I was the one who thought I'd die then!).

also at down town disney theres a bunch of good places to escape if they day at the parks becomes a bust cause of weather... theres an AMC movie theatre (they have fantasically comfortable seats that if you put the arm rests up you can lay across) and also disney quest even if theres no kids in the party its really fun to go into and just kinda loose your self for a while and if you need to leave you can just get you hand stamped and go back later that day...
