Place to eat in NYC port or right near there?

We are going to be driving from outside of Boston to NYC for our cruise. We are going to leave very, very early to insure we get there in plenty of time and avoid traffic (as much as possible). We don't want to deal with a hotel the night before with it being only a 3.5 hr drive for us. With this, is there any place in the port or a short walking distance from the port that serves breakfast? I have no idea what is around there. I'm just trying to be proactive in case we have to kill time with our 3 and 6 year old. TIA!

The Magic generally sails out of pier 88, looks like there’s a donut shop close by.

I used to work not too far from there. Midtown especially that far West can be find of a food desert early in the morning, but you might find some coffee shops that have pastries or breakfast sandwich type things, or food carts that have similar if you are there on a weekday when they are open for the people who work in the area. There is doubtless a Starbucks somewhere around there, a quick google found a bunch once you hit 9th Avenue. Have a great trip!

What time do you plan on arriving? There are no restaurants in that area. It's not cheap, but you may want to consider walking down the street to the Intrepid Museum and spending some time there. They have a ton of cool exhibits and a cafe inside so you can grab something to eat. This is really the only attraction/restaurant within walking distance from the terminal. /www.intrepidmuseum.org/

I looked on Google Maps for you and there is the 49th Street Deli and Coffee Shop right off 11th Avenue. Which is maybe 2 long blocks away from the port. It looks pretty good. There is also UnderWest Donuts at 47th right off 12th Avenue. This is maybe just a block away.

I used to work in Manhattan. I knew there would be something. They both had Yelp reviews.

How much is parking in NYC? Did you consider the Acela train from Boston to NYC?

I think there's a little cafe thing on the pier just south of the intrepid but I don't know what time it opens (though I feel like I remember seeing people getting coffee there before our last cruise). It's outdoor, no where to sit inside, but it's a nice little "park" with an awesome view of the Intrepid.

If you're looking for sit down, your best bet might be walking over to 9th where there's TONS of restaurants.
