Hi everyone,

I have heard many different opinions, and was wondering what you are all doing. For the place cards, are you giving every one their own, or putting two on in if part of a couple? For example, are you doing two cards, one for Mr. John Smith and Mrs. Jane Smith, or just one card for Mr. and Mrs. John Smith? And if it's a family of four, are you doing 4 separate cards or The Smith Family? I personally wanted to do a card for everyone (I think it's a little more personal that way) but I have some people telling me that it should just be one per couple. What are other people doing? :-)

I would love to know this as well!

I am doing one per couple and we have a few teenagers coming with their parents they will get their own. I am just doing it that way because every wedding I have been to it has always been that way. Plus we are doing DIY for everything so it would cut down on the amount of work I have to do

Place cards are supposed to be at each place setting/seat, so by definition each person would need their own. Escort cards are a bit different and are all put on a table and direct people to what table they are seated at - so you could do a couple or family on a single escort card.

We are technically doing 2 escort cards per person. Outside the reception room will be compasses with their name and table assignment and once they arrive at their table there will be a wine glass place card in the shape of a seahorse with their name on it. We are making one per guest so they can keep it as a momento. :goodvibes

We attached our escort cards to the favor. So to save on costs it was either one per family (which there was only one with kids), one per couple, or one per person. But place cards should be for one person at each table setting.

Ah... thank you guys very much... I was confused about escort vs. place card. I think I will do escort cards so that they know what table they are going to but pick where they want to sit once they get to the table. I appreciate all your help!! :-)
