Pizza???

Where is the best place to get a pizza in WDW? We're staying at the BCR...saw that the Boardwalk has a place and that might not be too far. We love New York style pizza. Just wondered what everyone thinks. I know there's tons of wonderful food to choose from, but sometimes, we just need our pizza!!

The pizza place near the BC is the Pizza window at Spoodles on the BW. They have calzones, pizza by the slice or you can get it in a 12" pie, salads, beer, etc. My DH and DS enjoy the pizza here, but I think it is just okay. One of the things I hate about it is that you have to eat at tables outside...although the location is beautiful, the birds are relentless and you are in constant competition with them for your meal.

My favorite place for pizza is Wolfgang Puck's cafe in DTD, on the West Side. I am embarrased to admit that I am not sure what NY-style pizza is (I live in Minnesota after all and we are close to Chicago so I am more familiar with that style), but I am thinking it has a thin crust (?) Anyway, WGP's pizza is very thin crust and they have a wonderful selection of non-traditional toppings, such as salmon with chive cream, BLTA (BLT w/avocado). I really love the margherita pizza with fresh basil and tomoatoes. Yum!

I agree that Wolfgang Puck has great pizza. We also enjoy Mama Melrose's and the flatbreads at California Grill and Jikos.

I think most people think of a thin but floppy crust when they say NY style. More shortening or oil in the crust than in a crispy, thin crust. Don't think you'll find that kind in WDW.

Has anyone ever had Shaka pizza on Maui. It is described as NY style and I really enjoy it.....but mostly because I only get to have it on Maui!

Thank you so much for the tips! Yes, that's exactly about the NY style - thin but floppy...yummy!! I've been to WCP in Las Vegas. Never had the pizza though. Sounds delish! You had me at AVACADO!!! That really sounds wonderful. I also read somewhere about Mama Melrose. That might be a place to try also. Anything you can tell me more on that one too would be great! Thanks for the tips!!
