Does anyone know of any really good pizza places around Disney? DH likes to come back after a long day at the parks and order a pizza for himself late at night. Being from Chicago he thinks (lol!) he is a pizza expert and hasn't found any so far that he really likes, tho we usually stay offsite at Sea World.

There is an Uno's pizza in the Goodings shopping center. They are pretty good. Don't know of anyone "onsite" though.

We like the pizzas at Mama Melrose in MGM as well as the flatbreads at California Grill and to a lesser extent those at Jiko.

Otherwise we find a dirth of good pizza in the area. Most places uses TONS of some kind of tasteless cheese, a small amount of tasteless sauce on top of a cardboard tasteless crust.

The best pizza I have found in the area is at Flippers. There are several locations in the Orlando area. The closest to WDW is in Kissimmee. If you are staying near Sea World, there is also one near Universal. This one does deliver to Universal and Sea World. You just meet them in the lobby. They are not Chicago style pizza. More on the line of a Bertuccis style pizza if you are familiar with that chain.

I've previously responded to a thread like this with the following.............When you get to your room, pick up the phone book and look up Giordano's..............They will deliver.........this is some of the best Pizza I've ever had.............I grew up at the Jersey Shore, home of some of the best Pizza "Pie" in the world..............and this ranks right up there................

I don't remember what type we ordered, but I do remember it was Chicago Style Deep Dish and it was awesome...........Not to mention that we ate it while watching the Bucs ( I also lived in Tampa for a while) whoop the Raiders in the Super Bowl 2 years ago...............from our Beach Club Villa.......................

This is a don't miss for our family since we were introduced to it.............

I agree. Giordano's is sooooooo good. I've already got this place scheduled twice for dinner for our next trip.

IMHO the best pizza for me whilst at WDW is served at the Pizza Planet in MGM.

Tubbi's Buffeteria in the Dolphin makes really good, fresh pizza! You won't be disappointed.

I love good pizza! It has to be thin crust, none of that thick doughy stuff. Is Mama Melrose's pizza thin?

I hate to be the voice of discontent, but I have to say that Giordano's was the absolute hands down worst pizza I have ever had. It was Chicago style deep dish but the crust had absolutely no flavor whatsoever and tasted like stale bread. The toppings were typical, but with the crust being so much of the pizza it just made it tasteless. If this is what chicago pizza is supposed to taste like you can have it. Sorry to all you Giordano's fans but I have to tell it like it is. Unfortunately Orlando is not very well stocked with good pizza places. I have been living here for 30 years and am still looking for the best. I used to work at a place that had New Haven style pizza and was spoiled. Best I have found so far is Carierra's, Stallones, and NYPD pizza. There is a little pizza place in Crossroads that is called Paisanos I think, that is not bad.

Wolfgang Pucks Express has good pizza. (in downtown disney)

Yes, it is thin. Tasty too although not crisy like some flatbreads.

720L, good call on Wolfgang Puck's pizzas. How could I forget?!

Thanks for all the great responses. We have Giordano's in Chicago. Not sure if they taste the same but its worth a try. I'll also try a few of the other places too. DH loves thick crust. Since I'm not a huge pizza eater (on weight watchers) maybe I'll try one of the other places. It will be nice to get a good pizza there. The last time we got one from Pizza Hut at our hotel but it tasted like crackers with tomato soup.
