Okay, so my husband is from Philly where they have really good pizza (so he says). He is a pizza fanatic and unfortunately we only have a couple usual crummy chains (pizza hut, dominos, etc.) where we live now and he is dying for some really good "new york style" pizza. Is there anything like that on Disney property or somewhere within reasonable driving distance in Orlando????

for pizza i dont know ill check my birnbaums after my cat gets off my lap! :teeth: lol
but i have a question. how do u start a thread???

ok now that my cat left.lol no seriously in my birnbaums book it says that the best place for pizza for adults is as follows:

Portobello Yacht Club.........Downtown Disney, West Side
or
House of Blues..................Downtown Disney, West Side

but if u have kids the best place for pizza (for kids) is as follows:

Tony's Town Square..........Magic Kingdom

Note: im 13
please tell me how everything turns out and do have a good time no matter what thats what disney is all about!!! pixiedust:

Just outside of Disney Property still in Lake Buena Vista (near Comfort Inn) there is a "CI-CI's Pizza". It is a place that serves thin crust pizza-all you can eat for $3.99 per person. It was really pretty good. Lots better than Domino's or Pizza Hut.

DW and I are both from Philly. When at Disney, we like Flipper's Pizza at Old Town. Just a short drive from Disney on 192 East of I-4.

I'm gonna assume this is a legitimate question... ;)

When you're in a particular forum, at the top under "User CP" there is a box that says "New Thread". Click on it and post away! :thumbsup2

I asked a similar question and from the replies that I got, you ain't gonna find it at WDW. I can't recommend a place either. Sorry. :confused3

Thanks so much for the tip. We will look into that one. It sounds like what we are after. He is so used to going to hometown-type family owned pizzarias and we live in a town with nothing but franchises.

I heard some good things about NYPD. Voted best pizza in Orlando. Anybody tried that before?

Do they also have NY-style pizza? Because, trust me, if the OPs DH is really looking forward to NY-style, she does NOT want to present him with a Chicago-style pizza. :smooth: They're both great, but are totally different.

On another note, I'm with the other poster who asked about good NY-style pizza available for delivery to the resorts. We'll be at Pop for our next trip and I am **so** not ordering their delivered pizza again so long as I live. :crazy2: It's very difficult to make a pizza so bad that I don't at least like it, but they managed. We'll be arriving late, so I'd love to order a good pizza and unpack...... :cloud9:

lol ive deffinate ly done that before(pizza and unpacking) i may be 13 but this is like the best pizza ever . its italian pizza. (arnt all pizzas italian...lol oh well)
but i dont know if its ny or not but id say it is and its amazing. but its a sit down place so it wouldnt work for a nice good old fashion eat and unpack. (but if u do go to Giordanos u have to get the famous deep dish pizza!!!mmmm yummy!!! )

Actually, most American pizza isn't Italian - or even considered pizza by real Italian pizza chefs. We usually add ingredients that aren't 'allowed' if a dish is to actually be called pizza. That's an argument for the chefs, though. I'll keep calling mine pizza. :)

NY pizza is the flat kind - tomato sauce, mozzarella, flat crust. Chicago pizza is the deep-dish kind. I love both (along with the real Italian pizzas and what we call California-foofy pizzas, lol) but they are so not the same thing and if her DH has a jones for one, the other won't do......

Me, I've copied down the name so I can check it out next time I'm in Orlando and want a good deep-dish. :thumbsup2

 We are originally from N.J. and I can relate to your DH wanting a "New York :thumbsup2 Style Pizza".
It took us about 6 years before we found a place out here in Colorado that makes a great pizza. We will be at the World in June and hope to find a good pizza in the area also. Good luck to your DH. Sounds like he has good taste.

I looked up Giordano's on Google's Local search and there were some reviews on it, and it's definitely Chicago style. I wonder if they deliver to the resorts...hmmmmmm!

Oooooh. Possibly BOTH pizzas AND delivery to WDW resorts! Found this in an online (http://www.mytravelguide.com/restau...do_Giordanos_Italian_Restaurant_Pizzeria.html) description of the place:

When you're in the mood for great Italian food at affordable prices, Giordano's is the place. Located on easy-to-find Apopka-Vineland road and convenient to numerous hotels and apartment complexes in the Lake Buena Vista area, Giordano's is a no-nonsense pizzeria with a pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and a heady mix of stuffed pizza, thin crust pizza, pasta, sandwiches and salads. Beer, wine and cocktails round out the menu, and carry-out and delivery are available to accommodate the theme park crowds.
