Pizza planet reviews?

I like Pizza Planet because it's been a reliable choice -- fast service, basic Disney pizza and salads, and available seating, especially upstairs.

When I have the quick service plan, my DHS choices tend to be Pizza Planet (for lunch) and Backlot Express (for dinner).

I was pleasantly surprised there last month. I've been to WDW more times than I can now count, but had never eaten there. My travel companion likes it, so we ate there. It was actually good!

It's mediocre, but serviceable. It's pretty typical theme park-quality pizza.

I just ate there on Monday. The pizza is your typical disney pizza.

The kids like to eat there because of the arcade. The pizza is average. The meatball sub is pretty good.

We have the free QS dining plan and we are trying to plan our schedule. What do you think of pizza planet?

We used to eat here every trip to DHS, and it was always pretty good. However, we ate here on our last trip in Feb 2014, and it was awful. We will not be back.

It is one of my favorite CS meals! Buuutttt...I don't get the pizza. ;)
The antipasto salad is one of my favorites. And the Cappuccino Cupcake is one of the best desserts ever. I would go there for that alone.
My kids don't mind the pizza. :goodvibes

I ate there in June and I won't be back. I ate there several years ago and thought I was just being picky but this time it was actually so gross tasting I didn't even eat it even though I was starving and had waited in line for 30 minutes for food.

nasty tasting sauce.

Never been there myself, but the reviews I've read have been mediocre at best. Another thing to keep in mind- it is not a reproduction of the Pizza Planet featured in the movie. There are some arcade games, but that's about it.

The food isn't very good, but it works if you're hungry. I remember having to wait in line for a long time, too. But they did have a lot of seating, especially if you go upstairs. Just set your expectations low, and you won't be disappointed. :)

We love it! We eat there every time. Pepperoni pizza with salad and a super yummy cupcake (I usually get the strawberry). And you can't beat the Toy Story theming…so cute :)

Theming?!??! Cute?!?

What is sad about PP is what it could have been in terms of theming, if Disney had found the inspiration to be creative with a CS. We could have had the opportunity to experience a really fun themed dining environment.

Yes, here is what they could have recreated:

We always eat here. It is my mom, dad, husband and two girls and we only need to use three CS and a kid's meal. It is a lot of food. The girls share the pizza kid's meal and my mom and I share the pizza adult meal. My dad and husband get the sub and the cupcakes are amazing! The kids love it.

We never use the table service on our HS day as the castle is two meals. This saves us some for dinner.

Very average, but better than it used to be. Don't expect to walk into a heavily themed eatery. It's basically a pizza place with an arcade downstairs. Definitely not on our "must do" list.

I read a review somewhere recently in which someone complained about the cost of the arcade games. Anyone know how much they are? No way I'll get out of there without feeding those machines as well as my kids. :sad2:

Agree with PP - it doesn't resemble the Pizza Planet from the movie, so go with that in mind if that's one of the selling points for you.

As PPs mentioned, it's the standard pizza you can get anywhere on property. Made up in batches and sit under a heat lamp pooling grease until someone orders it. It's fine, but nothing special.

We also found that Pizza Planet gets very busy and does not have as much seating capacity as some other QS locations in DHS.

I don't think they're cheap, by any means. More than the cost, my opinion on them is that we've got better things to do at Disney World than play arcade games. We can do that at home, or at the boardwalk...

My husband and son ate there on our trip a couple of weeks ago and they both liked it. I've heard many times that it's busy and I think we were either insanely lucky or really eating at an off time (can't remember but very possible) b/c it was empty pretty much.

The theming is nowhere near as cool as it could/should be.

I think the food was fine though! I didn't taste it, but it didn't look awful, and my husband and son liked it. One got the meatball sub and one a cheese pizza. The cupcake was a weird situation b/c we ordered the cappuccino cupcake and got the Olaf cupcake?? Either way - my son ate the icing and was happy! We definitely could have switched it, but just didn't care enough.
