We had basically had apple juice for breakfast in our hurry to get to DHS at opening - and we made it - but by 11 am, we were ready for some lunch! I had remembered others saying that Pizza Planet is one of the least horrendous options for CS dining at DHS so we headed over. I was a little disappointed that the theming was not more elaborate. I had hoped it would look a bit more like the Toy Story movie restaurant. But that's no big deal.

There were very few people there at this early time so I headed up to the ordering kiosk and was the second person in my line. The menu basically had two or three pizza choices and salad so not too many confusing choices. LOL!

The interesting part came after I had placed my order and moved up to the counter to await my food. There were three people in gloves at my end of the counter, loading the trays. Rather than grabbing a ticket and filling a tray... one person would put one drink on the tray and then push it down where another person would put salad on it... then it would get pushed the other way and someone would put one more drink on it. Finally my tray was sitting there with two waters and two salads on it and a bunch of other trays were getting pushed back and forth. No pizzas had been place on the tray yet and pizzas were stacking up on the counters above.

I looked over at the couple waiting next to me and noticed their mouths were hanging open just like mine. "This is absolutely mesmerizing, isn't it?" I asked. They looked at me a minute and then we all died laughing.

Finally my tray was complete with pizzas and I carried it out to the nice eating area outside to meet my DD. Unfortunately, the process had taken such a long time that Beauty and the Beast was only a few minutes from starting. So we grabbed our expensive little frozen pizza cousins and ran through the park gobbling as we went.

Anyway, the pizza wasn't bad! The crust was chewy and the sauce was spicy and the vegetables tasted fresh... I would definitely return there in a pinch. For the food and the tray-loading entertainment. :lmao:

Disney Dining Magic!;) We've noticed what seemed like strange machinations at some WDW eateries too (namely Columbia Harbour House). However, they serve how many thousands of people a day, so what do we know?:confused3

I laughed out loud while reading your post!:rotfl:We have eaten there often and are always amazed at how long it takes to fill the orders!:confused3

next time try the Studios Catering Comapny. The greek salad is decent which is more than i can say about pizza at Disney (except maybe at Pizzafari which is decent)

not a fan of CS at DHS in general

The pizza is not frozen. They are made fresh in a mechanical process with sauce cheese and toppings dropped on a crust in precisely measured amounts. Disney Imaginears actually invented this machine because of the huge volume of pizzas eaten at Disney. The process is definitely the best part of any Disney individual pizza.

No, I could tell they were not frozen. Because they resembled frozen pizzas, I called them frozen pizza "cousins". :)

It does take awhile for them to fill those easy orders! As much as other people complain, I LOVE their pizza!!
