Pizza Planet becoming Pizza Rizzo

I was sad when I heard the ABC cancelled the Muppets new show and worried that the parks might just phase out the Muppets all together. Well the opposite seems to be coming true! Pizza Planet closed down some time ago and is being renovated into Pizza Rizzo, A Muppets themed pizza parlor. Sounds cool!

I wonder if Mama Melrose might then go down to be overhauled as well. It would be interesting if Disney Double Downed on the Muppets Square area without a show. Perhaps additional movies in the works,

I am psyched that they're bringing some more Muppets into the parks, hopefully this leads to some more attractions as well.

My Mum will love this! She's a huge Muppets fan. I only went to Pizza Planet once, which was on our last trip last Summer, and I really liked it. I thought the theming was cool, like I imagined the real Pizza Planet would be! And I thought that what you got was decent for the price. Glad I got to experience it when it was Pizza Planet but I'm excited to see a Muppets themed pizza parlor!

I think if anything happens to Mama Melrose, it will either be re-themed Star Wars or will be completely removed to make way for something Star Wars related. It's in a bad location relative to the planned Star Wars area.

I sure hope not!! We love Mama Melrose. As far as Pizza Rizzo I sure hope they find a better pizza. Of all the things Disney does well, pizza is not one of them. With the exception of Via Napoli's Proscuitto e Melone---that one is to die for!!

I heard late this year, maybe in time for the holidays. I'm hoping for an October opening for our trip, but I'm not expecting it.

My grandmunchkins will be really disappointed. They loved pizza planet, but they love the Muppets also, so if it's well themed they'll love it.

I always wondered why it was pizza planet when toy story mania is across the park.

In all honesty, we hate the fact its going Muppet themed. Keep Pizza Planet and make a Muppet themed pizza joint somewhere else.
