Two weeks ago at BWV we received a flyer for ny style pizza delivery. I forgot to grab the flyer when we left to save the info for our oct trip. Does anyone have that flyer or remember the name of the pizzeria? I do not want to get to blt in oct and not get a new flyer before we want to order pizza.

DO NOT call any place that slips a flyer under your door. This is a common scam in Central Florida---the scammers are just trying to get credit card #'s/expirations/ccid's. Sometimes they will even buy el-cheapo pizza from some place, rebox it, and deliver it to allay suspicion. Typically, these flyers won't have an address on them, but even if they do, why take chances?

If you want to order pizza, and don't want "Disney pizza" (and, really, who does?) there are two places that will deliver and that get solid recommendations: Flippers for thin crust, and Giordano's for deep dish. Plug their numbers into your phone before you head to The World, or just look it up there.

Never even thought it might be a scam. A lot of work went into that flyer and weekly specials sheet. Of course I would never use a cc for that.

Is flippers the only thin crust delivery available?

I can't find the post but a few weeks ago here on the DIS there was a big post on this very subject. I guess the problem is getting worse....smjj

Personally I don't like FLippers pizza. Giordano's Pizza delivers to SSR and OKW, we meet them at the lobby. They have a website that you can check out, they have really good deep dish and thin pizza, among other things. Call them, I imagine they deliver to BWV as well.

I HATED FLIPPERS PIZZA. If you are looking for true NY style, don't order from Flippers. Next time I plan to try Giordano's. I should have known better just by the name. ;)

We stayed at SSR in January and they told us not to order pizza for delivery from any of the flyers. It would be nice if all the resorts would give some kind of warning when you check in. They also gave us a couple of places they recommend. I don't remember the names, but it's worth asking about when you check in.

I've heard many DVC members over the last year or two comment on how good Giordano's Pizza is...we haven't tried it, but may if we stay at SSR or OKW in December.

On the other hand, we have often gone over to Pizzeria Uno (right by Goodings/right as you leave DTD) and they almost always have a buy one, get one 1/2 price special. We buy one Spinaccoli and one plain cheese for the kiddos and have them give it to us uncooked. Then, we take it back to the 1BR and cook it later that night fresh (takes about an hour, but smells fresh and prefect). Those pizzas are so filling that 2 slices completely fill me up (hubby 2-3), so we have enough left over for 2-3 lunches/quick dinners later in the week. It's one of the best pizzas by far to reheat in the microwave - tastes almost the same as when it came out the oven, unlike most pizzas ;)

We can get 2 deep dish pizzas for around $20-25 and it lasts us 2 -3+ meals.

forgot to add - you can pick it up already cooked or even 1/2 cooked I think (at Pizzeria Uno)

gotta love that Chicago Deep Dish Pizza :) :)

We have had Giordano's delivered to both BCV and OKW - we are a thin crust family and it is WONDERFUL!!!!
