Pizza delivery at the Poly

In October, we will be staying at the Poly and will be doing a 3 night Platinum package. We will be 5 adults (according to Disney anyway - DD will be 11).

I was thinking of doing pizza delivery one night primarily for convenience, but what I can't figure out is how many credits it will use. Each meal on Platinum is 1 credit (regardless of where you eat) - I know on the regular DDP, pizza delivery is 2 credits (TS I think) per person for 1 pizza, breadsticks, and drinks.

For 5 people, can you get 2 pizzas? And I assume it will just be 1 dining credit per person (no differentiation on Platinum plan)?

Any insight is appreciated - we will be getting into our room probably around 10 pm and want a contingency plan in case we decide we are all starving.

I don't know the answer, but am looking forward to reading it also. Maybe you can call the in room dining of your resort, and ask them? If you are going to spend 1 credit per person anyway, why not just get a full room service meal? At Deluxe resorts, which is where you have to stay for platinum plan, the pizza delivery is through room service. So since you get appetizer, entree, dessert, and drink with 1 platinum plan credit, why not get it all? Or, you could order maybe 3 of each and share, depending on your group. I know some people don't like to share. If you are getting in that late, you will have to order from the late night menu, but it is still good.

Wanted to remind you the 18% gratuity and $3 delivery charge for room service is covered by the platinum plan, so you don't have to tip them. I looked at Poly room service menu on allears. You may be able to get one pizza per credit, and still get an appetizer, dessert, and drink. Then as you said, you would only have to use 2 credits. Call and ask, then post and let us know. = )

Actually, I just called and asked room service (clearly I really wanted to know.) She said it would be 2 credits per pizza, and you can order up until midnight, but you have to be checked into the hotel to order, can't do it from airport or en route. She said how long it takes to be delivered depends on the night, how busy they are, if it is raining, but expect 45 to 90 minutes.

Edit to add: She could be wrong. You know how often CMs give wrong answers.

Thanks for the info - that is good to know! That was really above and beyond to give them a call! I figure we can decide that night - we will be checked in, we just have plans that will keep us out until about 10 pm and I'm not sure if we will be hungry or not (or how hungry we might be - we don't have solid dinner plans, just a late lunch at Le Cellier). But as you pointed out, regular room service (late night menu) should be available as well.

Thanks again!

You're welcome. I think she must be wrong about 2 credits per pizza though. Since you can dine at Victoria & Albert's for 1 credit on the platinum plan, it would be rediculous to charge 2 platinum plan credits for 1 pizza.

They consider a pizza from room service to be a meal for 2 people. That's why it is 2 credits.

If you were on one of the standard dining plans, that same pizza would cost you 4 TS credits, for the same reason - a pizza is a deluxe resort room service meal for 2, and room service on those plans is 2 credits per person.

(For those on the dining plans, this is different from pizza delivery at a moderate or value resort, which costs 2 credits per pizza. It's only 4 credits when ordering from room service at a deluxe.)
