PUFFY PIZZA CASSEROLE

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 C. chopped green bell pepper
1 C. chopped onion
1 clove minced garlic
Dash of salt
1/8 tsp. Tabasco sauce
1 envelope dry spaghetti sauce mix
1/2 tsp. ground oregano
1/2 C. water
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
8 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded

Batter:
1 C. milk
1 T. vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 C. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 C. grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

In a large skillet, brown ground beef, drain off all fat. Stir in next 9 ingredients: simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

In a small bowl, combine milk, oil and eggs; beat 1 minute at medium speed. Lightly spoon in flour and salt; beat 2 minutes at medium speed or until smooth. Pour hot meat mixture into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Top with mozzarella cheese, covering filling completely. Pour batter over all and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until puffed and deep golden brown.

Serve immediately, cutting into squares to serve.

This does sound yummy. I won't try it right now, because I am watching my weight, but I will keep in mind for the future. :D

I made this last night for my boyfriend and I. There were plenty of leftovers, but this morning they're mysteriously gone.

We loved it. I think his roommate did too!

I did leave out the chopped green pepper (despite the fact that my boyfriend's 22 he still won't eat most vegetables..) and tabasco sauce, and threw in a can of chopped olives instead. It was good!
