Just a heads up, last night my family and I had a pie at the Boardwalk. Expectations were not that high and we knew it would be expensive, but thirty dollars for an eight slice plain pie and four sodas for what tasted like a frozen pre made pizza is pretty dissapointing. Disney can do better, but they won't have to if people keep eating there.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about dining in a lot of Disney restaurants.

Taste aside, I don't think $30 for food and beverages for 4 people is too outrageous. I think I paid $9 for one slice at the grab & go place at CS a couple of years ago.

Got to agree with the comment on the bad pizza. True at just about anyplace at WDW - with the notable exception of Via Napoli.

You must be from the MidWest by saying pie. Reminds me of a joke Brian Regan told about coming from Miami to a small university in Ohio. His new roommate asked if he wanted to "split a pie" for supper. He thought, "well that sounds weird but I guess if that's the thing to do..." :rotfl:

It's weird, though, I'm from the MidWest and I always say opposite terms, like soda instead of pop and pizza instead of pie. ;)

Actually I was born in Brooklyn, grew up in Staten Island, moved to New Jersey but now reside in nearby Lake Mary so I know good pizza and unfortunately now that I live in Florida I know bad pizza too.:lmao:

I stop (too) often at the pizza window on the Boardwalk. It's not the worst pizza I've ever had, but it's definitely the worst pizza I order regularly.

Had some on Friday, and I found myself wondering why there are 100 whole-in-the-wall pizza places in NYC that can make good pizza but Disney struggles so.

That said, I did finish the pizza and will probably order it again.

I don't think Disney operates the pizza window, which may be why it's stayed off the dining plan all these years (having just recently joined it). The Boardwalk food kiosks are not operated by Disney.

I used to like the BW pizza window, but now you can't customize your pies. You can get a whole cheese, or pepperoni, or veggie (peppers and onions, I was told), but that's it. I used to order a pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pie and it was good. But they put too much cheese on to only have one topping to offset it. I ordered a pepperoni pie, and then went over to Screen Door and bought some sausage and added it to the pie. It helped that I was staying in a villa so I could cook the sausage :thumbsup2. But I probably won't be going back there again.
