Here are some pixs of the reno rooms and the great view we had

Wonderful, Nana, thanks for sharing.

Did you book a standard room?

Did you book a standard room?

Yes, it is a standard room. T he headboard stayed lit all night as a nightlight (our choice) and when you pushed a button the lamp it played "a dream is a wish". Really neat. The view was wonderful and the window. They also have those cute little Mickey toiletries.

Thanks for posting them and I'm staying at the DLH this August 11th through the 14th. It's just going to be me and my 2 boys and while it's only going to be 3 days, I look forward to finally staying there. I had a some left over DVC points and decided why not use them? So I booked a standard view room and upon check in, I'm going to see if any newly redone rooms are available. I secretly hoping for an free upgrade, but I'm more than willing to pay for it, if the cost isn't enormous. If it can't be done, no big deal and I'm still staying at the DLH and finally going to see the original that started it all. I have talked about doing it before and made some plans in the past, but it's on this time!

Are the fireworks different colors and do they sparkle/change? Or is it just a steady light?

While I like the newly remodeled rooms... I don't like the closed-in feel of the blue fishbowl windows. I much prefer being able to open the window and get fresh air if desired... or even just to listen for the sounds of tinkling music and voices drifting across the air...
I know it is silly, but that is part of the charm and enjoyment while we are on vacation...
And to see everything through a blue glass... I'm just not thinking that improves the view...?

I am really hoping for a room in the Marina/Magic tower that still has the little railing and opening windows...
...although the teeny tiny room on the end doesn't sound all that appealing! LOL!

Oh!
One more question...

If you had to choose... (and if you were in the Dreams Tower)
Which would you pick, a pool view or a Downtown Disney view?

I've looked all over the web and can only find daytime pictures of the view over Downtown Disney... and the tops of generic buildings just don't seem all that appealing...

Does anyone have any shots of what it looks like at night?

I mean... I keep hearing about how everyone wants the Downtown Disney view (as opposed to that beautiful lit-up pirate ship pool) and I'm just not understanding it...? What am I missing? lol
And if it's just the chance to see the fireworks from that view... we are rarely in our hotel that early, so I'm NOT asking about that.
I'm specifically wondering what is so great about the Downtown Disney nighttime view.

THANKS!!!

See, this is exactly what I mean by the blue windows...
They just seem to take the vivid color out of the view. :sad1:

What are they like at night?
