Pixie Hollow--tell me everything you know!

Hoping someone has been to Pixie Hollow lately and can help me out! I'm trying to figure out when/where to put Pixie Hollow in our 4-day Park Hopper itinerary.

We will be in the parks Mon. 3/16-Thurs. 3/19.

1) When are the "typical" weekday operating hours?

2) When is it LEAST crowded?

3) How many fairies are there?

4) Is Tinkerbelle ALWAYS there?

1) When are the "typical" weekday operating hours?
You are going during the off season and a weekday so you will be seeing short lines.
The park is open the 16th at 8 am and 9 am the rest of your trip. It closes at 11 pm. DCA is 10 am to 7 pm. The Sun Wheel, King Triton's Carrousel, and Goofy's Playhouse will be closed then. Tuesday is a MM early entry day. I went at 11 am and rode lots of rides on an MM day as there were no crowds last month. Aladdin will be open only on the 19th apparently for your trip.

2) When is it LEAST crowded?
For February 5th the Pixie Hollow was open from 10 am to 5 pm Any time would be slow but getting there early would mean shorter lines. They are face characters and do sets so they do have to leave for a while then come back later just like the princesses.

3) How many fairies are there?
There are Tinkerbell Silvermist, Iridessa, Fawn and Rosetta. The number of fairies depends on a lot of factors like CMs who get sick and bad weather.

4) Is Tinkerbelle ALWAYS there?
She goes off stage once in a while as she needs a break. It is the same as the WDW one and the same as with any face character meet and greet like Ariel and the other princesses.

We were there last week and waited 60 minutes at Pixie Hollow. We walked by at one point, I think just after 5 and they had closed the entrance. We were there a slow day due to weather, but it seemed most times we walked by it was 60 minutes. The wait seemed to actually go quickly, there was a lot to look at along the way. We saw Rosetta and Tinkerbell.

DD had been talking about seeing Tinkerbell for weeks, so that was one line I could not avoid! And, it ended up being the longest line the entire trip!

On the days that dd and I have been there Pixie Hollow has opened about an hour after park opening. Now we see people go get in line as soon as the park opens.

We have waited anywhere from 20 minutes (first thing in the am) to over an hour later in the day. We were there for the soft opening and waited 90 minutes!

Tink does have to take pixie breaks but for the most part is there. Her fairy friend rotate. Each time we have gone there have different friends we meet first and Tink second.

Last month (a fairly slow time for DL), we stopped by once in the morning (maybe 10am?) and the line was about 45 minutes. We didn't want to wait that long, so we figured we would come back in the afternoon when many little kids would be back in the rooms napping. It didn't make much difference. That afternoon (2 or 3pm) it still said 45 minutes, although the line was a little shorter. We waited, because Tinker Bell is one of our 3-year old daughter's favorites. Both Tinker Bell and Iridessa were there, and it was probably closer to 30 minutes.

We waited about 45 min. in early Dec. (I think it was the 10th) in the late afternoon. Personally, for me it wasn't worth it. When we got to the first fairy location, Silvermist was just leaving and Fawn was coming on. They spent, no kidding, about 30 sec. with the 4 girls and 1 boy and then were ready for us to move on. What???? we waited all that time and they didn't spend 1 min. with us. I had to ask them to pose for pictures and sign autographs. Then we were quickly ushered 5 feet away where we had to wait for Tink to come off break. When she arrived, again, she spent very little time, and afterwards I asked my DD9 if she even spoke to her and she said no. When I checked the pix the PP took of Tink with the kids he didn't even get one of my own kid, or of the whole group of them-lucklily I did. I was very disappointed and think the PFP is much better-more characters, more interaction from the princesses.

On the plus side, the line is pretty cool, but you don't need 45 mins. to see it.

Notice that only one kid (and 1 fairy) is looking at the camera, oh and that's my kid!

If you DD is really into the fairies, then go for it. Get in line as soon as the line opens-maybe the fairies are fresher then.

Does the entertainment/park hour schedual you pick up at the front gates tell you when Tinkerbell is gonna be there? I would assume you should plan around it to be there the minute she is supposed to come out.

Pixie Hollow opens on average an hour after the park opens, they close around 5 currently but I would imagine that as it warms up and the park is open later the hours will extend.

2) When is it LEAST crowded?

When it's raining. The wait is pretty consistent, when we were there Presidents Day weekend the wait was 60-90 min, the weekend before that we waited 30 min.

3) How many fairies are there?

We saw 2, Tink and Iridessa

4) Is Tinkerbelle ALWAYS there?

I would say yes but can't say for sure, they do have to take breaks but I would imagine they just rotate the pixies out. When we were there it started to pour rain so they closed the line off. Both the pixies we saw had on winter outfits tho, they were very cute!!! I can't wait to see them in summer outfits.

This is what I was worried about...looong lines for short interaction time.
And looong lines no matter what time of day. (Or having to be there before they even open and just wait/waste park time waiting for PH to open up in the morning...)

I wish this was open for MM, but I know they don't open till after normal park hours...(like PFF)...

Ok, thanks for the input...back to my itinerary to figure out where to put Tink!

Does the Entertainment Guide at the front gates tell you the Pixie Hollow hours of operation?!

I checked my rapidly expanding collection of maps and times guides-Yes, the Entertainment Times Guide does list PH times. Jan. 16 (Fri.)-Jan. 18th (Sun.) Pixie Hollow was open 9-5. DL opened at 9 on Fri and Sat. and 8 on Sunday. So on 2 of the three days, over a weekend, PH opened at park opening and basically closed at dark (dusk.) I would assume as daylight lengthens, the closing time will extend, but it may be more related to Disney only having to schedule one shift of characters.

The Ent Guide should give you times, if not stop by City Hall and ask, they will have the times info there for sure.

And yes, just plan on long lines, then if you have a shorter wait you'll be very happy. Remember this is a brand new deal, there are tons of kids (and adults) who will want to see Tink and friends.

You have to remember that this is a slow loader. If Tink greets one family with a total time of 2 minutes that is 30 families an hour. Even if Tink just waved you are not going to get a lot of guests through the line.

Where the House of the Future used to be. As you walk along the circle you see the entrance to Tomorrowland then going toward the castle you will see a garden like area with trees and running water. It sets up to Buzz Light year. it used to be where Ariel did her meet and greets.

Disneyland is my final answer, lol.

Now I'm thinking that's one of the 1st things we should run back to do at park opening...IF PH is OPEN at park opening...that'd be great if it was!!

Anyone else visiting PH lately or have an Ent. Guide for operating hours?

Does PH tend to open at park opening?!?
