I just read on the Disney website that the Pixie Hollow meet and greet will officially open Oct. 28!!! I think this will be a cute additon to the park. All of you going in Oct. must take photos and post them!:wizard: Sounds like it will be lots of fun!:cheer2:

That is also the release date of the new DVD.

noooooooooo i was praying it was gonabe begging of oct not the end

If you look, there are actually photos up on the internet of the Fairies, as they will be appearing. (Sorry - don't have a link right now, but I do remember you have to dig a little bit - it was in someone's blog thread.) They are beautiful and their clothes match the animation very well, especially Silvermist. Fawn and Iridessa are pretty close, too.

All of the trailers and Pixie Previews that have been running state, that it's a DVD and Blu-ray release. When you take a beloved character like Tink and create a whole new property from it, die-hard fans will either love it or hate it and that is a huge gamble to take financially. Guess they felt the tremendous expense of a theatrical launch might not balance the profit that they would gain from it, so they took the more conservative route!

That's such great news - we are arriving in LA on the 28th and our first day at the park is October 29. :goodvibes

For those in the SoCal area, the film will be shown at Disney's El Capitan Theatre. It will be interesting to see how the finished version turns out. The project has experienced a tremendous amount of delays and at one point early on John Lasseter declared it "unwatchable" and sent it back for some major retooling.

I can attest to this. I know someone in product development (products are designed from the inception of a film) and she saw both developmental versions (with raw animation and storyboarding - not unlike the famed 1991 film festival version of Beauty and the Beast.) She said the new one is significantly better.

We hadn't heard about the El Capitan showing!!!! Yay!!!!!

Thanks!!!!
