For those familiar with the attraciton, will the Pixie Hollow lighting that is to debut in mid-June be visible without getting in line to see Tink and friends. I have no interest in seeing the characters, but this sounds like it will be really cool at night.

Thanks!

In the summer time,

I believe that Tink and her friends will be at Pixie Hollow from 9:00am to 5:00pm. (The Guests who are in line at 5:00 can stay in line, but the line is closed at 5:00pm.)

Tink and her friends will not be at Pixie Hollow at night time.

So will the lighting be viewable without going in the queue or will you walk through the queue to see the lighting and then exit at some point before the room where you would see Tink?

I'm so confused.:confused3

Well if the whole area closes at 5, it would be pretty hard to put on a light show...

The Disneyland website doesn't specify whether or not the Meet and Greet part of Pixie Hollow will be open later during the summer, but I would imagine so. This is all it says:

"Tinker Bell and her friends have been welcoming guests into their Pixie Hollow home, tucked into the glen near the entrance to Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, since fall of 2008. This summer, for the first time, nighttime visitors will find magical surprises as Pixie Hollow and the nearby pond come to life in iridescent light shows. Pixie dust cascades across the landscape and radiates down into the pond. Even the water becomes enchanted as playful fountains spring to life, pop jets perform with whimsical precision, and sparkling strobes shine throughout Pixie Hollow."

Going on that, I think you will be able to see most of the lighting and fountains even if you're not waiting in line, since you can see the pond and landscape from the walkway.

The Pixie Hollow lighting is expected to start on Friday, June 12, so it's hard to say for sure. :goodvibes

At another forum, "Darkbeer" wrote that Pixie Hollow would not have characters at night.

Here's the quote from "Darkbeer":

"Note, Disney just installed a new fountain next to Pixie Hollow with lots of LED's under the water.

So during the Day, there will be the Meet and Greet, and this summer, the Fountain Light Show in the area (But no Characters at night)."

The pond is visible from outside the line and would be visible to all guests outside the line.

Pixie Hollow is open at 9 am except when the park opens at 10 am. In theory the new lighting would allow for night time visits with Tinkerbell. This would add up to 6 hours a day in the summer for meet and greets. If it was open 2 more hours then it would be 25% reduction in wait time. However the ride has a line that hits the path that goes from Main Street to the Matterhorn. When the line hits that path then people walk away as they do not want to wait over an hour. Increasing meet and greets would only affect evening guests and would not actually be 25% as the shorter lines would mean more people getting into the new shorter lines. Vicious endless cycle, lol. In the summer though there is a possibility of 6 more hours of Tinkerbell but can they get enough cast for such long hours?

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

 Oops, I was wrong about 5:00pm.

Right now the hours for

Tink's 'Meet & Greet' at Pixie Hollow

are 9:00am to 8:00pm.

Pixie Hollow closes at about 7:30pm each night so that Tink can get ready for her appearance in "Magical". The area is kept open to guests (except during the fireworks) and you can stand in the queue to watch to the light show on both sides of you. You don't have to line up, guests are free to meander around the area. You can also walk through the character area, which is really cute all lit up at night, it's just that all of the fairies have gone inside for the night.

We've seen it a few times since it started and this has been our experience during each visit.
