Pixie dust

We were at AKL from 5/22-5/30.

It was our 9th Disney stay and very first pixie dusted upgrade.

The facts:
Booked a Pool View.
Did not do online check in.
Arrived and checked in at 9:30 am on 5/22.
Was upgraded to a savanna view!

We stayed one night at YC last weekend post-cruise. We had booked a garden view CL room. Imagine our surprise when the key opened the door to a huge 2 bedroom suite! It was some fun pixie dust!

We were actually happy that we had not planned on any park time that day, we just enjoyed the room, space and view

We've been upgraded from standard to savanna view at AKL; from standard to water view at the BC; and from SL to RPC at the GF.

Please send some pixie dust my way for next week. An upgrade from GV to either club level would be wonderful! A girl can dream, right??

Can I ask, how long were you staying and what the details were? I would either faint, pee my pants, cry, or all of the above if something like that happened to us! How awesome for you!

Not a room upgrade, but this year at the end of our trip we upgraded out passes from 10 day hoppers to APs.

We knew that would mean that we would have to return before the first day of our two week trip started this year, which would be tough since I teach Sept through April. Best bet, I could maybe do an 8 day trip in Feb on reading week, knowing it would be a little cooler, and possibly more busy, on president's day week.

There was some bug in the system when they tried the upgrade, so they did some weird stuff, putting the value of our 10 day hoppers on a gift card, then applying that value to the APs, anyway, it turns out our anniversary date is at the END of our two weeks there, so next trip we can do up to 16 days if we leave at the same point in out work schedules, instead of having to cram in an 8 day in Feb for the same price in tickets

In our approx 10 trips we've never received an upgrade. We're hoping that when we arrive at ASMo in Oct. 2013 to celebrate our 25th anniversary that there will be some major pixie dust.

On our first trip, we had flight issues. Missed our connection in Atlanta because our flight was so late, and there were no other flights to put us on so we ended up on a 6 am flight the next day. When we got to the resort (WL) we were BEAT. We just wanted to lie down--didn't care where. We had booked a woods view room, but must have looked so exhausted that the CM sprinkled pixie dust on us. A courtyard view room was available, she upgraded us and sent us up there right away. We rested and were able to start our vacation on the right foot. It made all the difference!

We have taken 15 trips in the last 10 years (16 trip starts Saturday!)

Here are the upgrades we've received:

2007 - booked gv room at the Polynesian - upgraded to TPV
2008 - best upgrade ever!!! We booked a Grand Gathering for ourselves,
all our children, grandchildren and my mom. We paid for four rooms, passes, DDP, airfare and spending money. We booked gv rooms at BC and all four were upgraded to gv cl!!!
2008 - booked a YC gv room and we were upgraded to gv cl
2011 - booked sugarloaf cl at the GF and we were upgraded to RPC!

Never asked, never expected, and always thrilled!

Our pixie dust would have to be DH finally realizing (after I showed him the numbers) that getting annual passes and renting DVC points would not only save us money it would help us stay in the nicer resorts. Can't wait for our first stay at SSR this August.
