The other thread about the Steeplechase Suite got me all excited LOL. Does anyone else have any stories about magical upgrades? What resort was it and how did it happen? It's nice to dream about that stuff happening to my family one day

We were family of the day at Yacht Club and were upgraded to their 2 bedroom suite with club level. It was awesome...Happened two summers ago and had I read my email the night before check in, I would have known it would happen b/c Disney Reservations sent me an updated reservation for some weird reason and in the comments below it said FOD - which I now know is Family of the Day. So it was predetermined the day before we got there....

Not really an upgrade but we were comped a room at SSR 2 years ago when we were stuck there because of snow at home for an extra few days. We were staying on our DVC points and didn't have enough points to cover the extra time we were going to have to spend in Florida. We were comped the room for the days we didn't have points to cover. I think we ended up staying an extra 4 or 5 days

We were upgraded on our honeymoon to SV at AKL. A good move for Disney as we ended up by into AKV on that trip!!
