Pixie Dust Pass vs Tickets Advice?

I have 2 upcoming trips planned July 2022 and September 2022 with some family using a bunch of banked DVC Points 🎉 We will be doing at least 8 park days (7 weekdays/1 weekend day). Ideally, I would like to purchase the Pirate Pass that is available to FL residents and cover both trips and any other potential trips but that isn't available right now 😭

Since it isn't available I think my best option is to purchase the Pixie Dust Pass which will cover the majority of our dates, and buy a one-day ticket for the one weekend day if Disney doesn't resume the sale of annual passes. When buying the pass I can buy it now (not on a monthly payment plan) so I can activate it in July when I first enter the parks rather than on the monthly plan that would start the clock now. I can then upgrade to the Pirate pass if it becomes available again if not proceed with the one-day ticket option if it isn't available before July.

Does that seem like the best plan? I'm mildly concerned about Disney potentially halting sales of the Pixie Dust pass so just want to lock something in now. I don't think I can upgrade park tickets to the Pixie Dust pass if one of the days entered is a weekend day so I don't want to go that route since the weekend day is of course the first day.

I am thinking of possibly downgrading to the Pixie Dust from the Pirate since the weekends have been so crowded during the past and my last 2 visits. I just need to try to remember not to do it at MK since you need to show up in person when you change pass types evidently.

Pixie really fills most of our needs and we can then spend the weekends enjoying our DVC resorts. One-day tickets are so expensive though even if you only need to do one day it is almost as much as upgrading to the Pirate Pass.

This was my plan too - buy the Pixie Dust while it's available and upgrade if they start selling the Pirate pass. When I went to confirm with the CM I was dealing with that I could upgrade, he said the pass can only be upgraded during its renewal period. He said it was possible that once sales open up again we'd be able to work something out, but he could not tell me it would definitely be allowed, even though it has been in the past. I bought the Pixie Dust anyway because it is cheaper than tickets for the one trip I have planned, which is a M-F trip.
