Pixie dust on our DREAM vacation! Update 06/08 TR finished!!

Should I say it agin !!I am all caught up:rotfl2:This time I liked Tom's shrimp entre the best !!!Looked like you got some cute Fish extender gifts !!

Hi Lisa! :flower3:
Frankfurt Airport .... construction ever since we first went through there, and it is HUGE!!!
Disneyland Paris is nice, isn't it? We are going back in just 6 weeks and I cannot wait for all the new shows and parade for their 20th anniversary! :woohoo:
We live in Upper Austria, in it's capital, Linz, to be precise! Most people visit Salzburg and Vienna and Linz is right in the middle between those two.
Glad you liked it here .... where did you visit?

Hi Karin-we went to Salzburg and Mondsee. I know that it is touristy but it was the Sound of Music tour!:) Mondsee had to be one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen. I still remember sitting in a little sidewalk cafe having the best ever strudel and looking at the church. It was amazing. Just loving your report! We did the Dream in October and you are right, the round bathtub is just fantastic. On the Magic, we would normally shower in the gym to have more space. But this time we stayed and used our own shower!:goodvibes Can't wait to read more! Lisa

Another great update Karin :goodvibes

Very nice Gold Castaway gift, will you be Platinum by the time of your back to back on The Fantasy?

Did you ever get your DVC magnet? I always wonder how the DVC guys know which members are on the ship if you didn't book your cruise using points :confused3

Hallo aus Wördern bei Tulln!

Did you meet the head of hotel services (or whatever he's called), Andreas?
He is Austrian, too and when we were on the Dream on 01/29 he told us, that he always checks the passenger list and almost never finds Austrians on it.

We had the exact same food on our flight to Orlando, on the way back we flew in business class and there the food was so much worse that I decided to skip both meals.

Love your trip report so far!

You are very good at catching up lately, Rosie! :goodvibes :thumbsup2
We got some wonderful FE gifts on that cruise, but more importantly, we made some great new friends and were able to hook up with some wonderful "old" ones! :lmao:

Salzburg is one of the most beautiful cities we have! I actually prefer it to Vienna. :goodvibes
And I am glad you enjoyed the food and views!
I am really glad I am not the only one who is happy about the round tub - it was such a fun surprise!
More coming up tonight .... just need to earn a little more money for Mickey, especially now that we are doing the 7 night back to backs in 2013! ;) :rotfl2:

Thank you, Linda!
Yes, our first Fantasy cruise will be our first platinum one too! I never thought we would make it to platinum and now we will have done it pretty fast!

Well, yes, we did get a magnet in the end. :lmao: And some more things too! ;) But that's another story that will come up shortly in my trip report! :thumbsup2
So far I haven't figured out how they determine if you are DVC or not yet, but we definitely will in the summer! :goodvibes

Hallo aus Linz!

How fun to have another Austrian Disney lover here as well! And how funny is it to communicate in English! :rotfl2:
Yes, we did meet Andreas, the hotel director, on the DREAM. He even remembered us when we met him again at the Captain's reception in February. He is really nice and it was him, who told us about the fact that the manager of CC is Austrian too and that his first name is Günther. :goodvibes

The food going to the US is always WAY better than coming back. They cater in the US and it just isn't up to our standards. We usually stock up on food from Wolfgang Puck's Express (have to stick with our fellow Austrians) and bring it on board with us. Then, we take some sleeping aid and sleep through the offerings on board. :lmao:

Great to have you here! :goodvibes

Hello Karin!

I've just come across your Disney Dream trip report and so far it looks amazing. I was just looking for some vegetarian food reports and I stumbled over one of your previous reports. It's my first time here, but I'm a regular poster on many other Disney boards. A Disney fan from Salzburg told me that there is an Austrian on DisBoards who is posting many food reports, but I didn't know that you are from Linz.

Since you are from Linz, you might know the little village called Walding, that's approximately 10 kilometres outside of Linz in the Mühlviertel. The person that told me about you, was also from Walding. I grew up there, but now I'm living in Salzburg, because of my study. Although it's a beautiful city, it's not always nice to live here, especially during the Salzburg Festival (Salzburger Festspiele). It's crazy with all the tourists.

By the way all your trip and food reports are great. I've also seen your private homepage about all your Disney trips and all I can say is WOW. You have been quite a lot to Disney. I've only been to Disneyland Paris five times and once to WDW during my foreign semester in the US.

Can't wait to see more of your pictures.

Welcome to the DISboards :goodvibes and welcome to my trip report! :cheer2:

Sure I know Walding, very close to where we live! So, hello fellow Upper Austrian! :flower3:
Thanks for mentioning the other "side" of Salzburg - I am sure it gets pretty busy for the locals, but it is one of the most beautiful cities to visit for sure! :goodvibes

Thanks for your kind works on my trip and food reports! I just love to share our Disney experiences and I have found so many wonderful friends here on the boards and some of them we met at Disney and some great friendships have developed!

So you have been to DLRP five times? I guess you like it then. ;)
We are going back there in just 5 more weeks - right after the festivities for their 20th century. Can't wait to see the new castle show and parade - and I promise to post lots of photos of both! :thumbsup2

Please feel free to post comments here (and all my other threads!) Wonderful to know some fellow Austrians are around as well! :cloud9:

I'm all caught up and am loving your TR! Your cabin looks beautiful and I love the shower/tub! Cute gifts you received, both in the fish extender and from DVC.

Can't wait for the next update!! :goodvibes

Day 3, February 20

Remy, a dining experience - Part 1

We woke up refreshed and ready for another day’s adventures.
The first adventure of the day was testing the shower. Tom braved it first. He had a nice and long shower while I studied the Personal Navigator and sat out on the veranda. Then it was my time to experience our new shower. Tom explained how the water mixing worked, as I always have a problem without my glasses and then I turned on the water, got the temperate right and put on the rainforest.
It was heavenly, I could have easily stayed in there all day, but we had other things planned. So after watching the ship pull into Nassau

we headed to deck 3 to the Royal Palace for breakfast.
We signed in at the podium after having wiped our hands and were then taken to our table. It took a while until a server came by to hand us a menu and take our drinks orders, but we didn’t mind at all. Tom ordered some

coffee and I ordered

IMG_3454.jpg

some tea. They brought a wooden box and I got to select my tea. Then I was served some hot water.
Another server came around with a huge tray of pastries and Tom took

IMG_3457.jpg

a cinnamon bun, which he really enjoyed.
We then ordered our breakfast. As always I went for the

IMG_3458.jpg

Mornin' Tug Boat, fresh blend of strawberries, bananas, almonds, raisin granola and low-fat yogurt, while Tom ordered his favourite,

IMG_3461.jpg

the Swiss Bircher Muesli, Muesli with raisins, shredded apples and yogurt. It was nice to just sit there and enjoy the starters. Right after we had finished them the table was cleared and our main courses arrived.
Tom had

The Big Breakfast, a large filled omelet on savory toast with grilled tomatoes, bacon and baked beans topped with caramelized onions, which is one of his favourites. My choice of the morning were

IMG_3462.jpg

the Traditional Eggs Benedict, toasted English muffin with grilled Canadian bacon, served with poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce, grilled roma tomatoes and link sausages.
We both were in breakfast heaven and cleared our plates. After tipping our servers we walked over to the elevator and went up to deck 10. It was great to see that there were a lot of new gifts in our extender

and we took them all inside and had a good look at them. We took a few photos from our veranda and then after a walk around deck 11 and 12

we got ready to walk into Nassau.
Around 10 we got off the ship, walked along the pier and over to the immigration building.

To be continued ..........

I'm all caught up and am loving your TR! Your cabin looks beautiful and I love the shower/tub! Cute gifts you received, both in the fish extender and from DVC.

Can't wait for the next update!! :goodvibes

Welcome! :flower3:
I am so glad to have you here and being all caught up! :thumbsup2
We loved our stateroom, it was awesome and so was the shower! :goodvibes
There were lots of great gifts in our FE, the other participants were very generous and so is DCL. Their gifts for returning cruisers are wonderful!

Great update, Karin. Love the photos of the cruise ship (I didn't realize they had a mini-golf on the ship).

Thank you, Kathy!
It is such a beautiful ship and there are so many photo oportunities! Thank god for digital photography!
You can do quite a few sports on board, the mini-golf is so cute! We have a few more photos lateron in the trip report, they even have a basketball court on deck 12 (or 13 :confused3). :goodvibes

I always love all of your reviews. Thank you so much for these great reviews!!!!!

It is so nice to know that you are on board for this trip report as well! Thank you so much for reading. :flower3:

Wow, that breakfast looks really really good! I found breakfast in general, on the Wonder, to be pretty awful.

Nice morning so far.

Nice morning so far.

We did buffet breakfast on our first Wonder cruises and we were not impressed either. Then we decided to just head to the Table Service restaurants for breakfast and we really enjoyed breakfast at the Royal Palace!
Last year the sausage was aweful, but they must have others now, as these were pretty yummy! :thumbsup2
And who can say NO to Eggs Benedict? ;) Certainly not I! :rolleyes1
