My DD and her family are sitting in Philadelphia airport waiting to fly to WDW. Their Frontier flight is now delayed almost 5 hours. Scheduled to leave at 7:30 but now 11:45. Their plane is being rerouted to fly to another destination because of huge delays. DD won't land (if at all) til 2:45am. Pixie dust needed to get them out tonight (sooner rather than later!) Trip is the kids Christmas gift. Come on Tinker Bell!!!

Thank you for the pixie dust. Must have worked because DD and family made it! However they arrived at 2:30 in the morning, four and a half hours after they were initially scheduled. BUT...the good news is that no one was dragged from their seat on the plane!:rolleyes1

Good thing they were on Frontier and not United! :rolleyes2

Airport delays on the WAY to WDW with kids is no fun! Glad she made it down safely and with her sanity.

How did she get to the hotel?

Glad your daughter made it there safely and enjoying their vacation. That same thing happened to us one year from Philadelphia airport. I know the airport itself is not the cause, its just a coincidence. But the point I am making is one year we had a flight scheduled to leave PHL at 7am and arrive at MCO at 930am. Well our plane was coming from Vermont or something and a passing thunderstorm delayed everything a few hours. We made it to Orlando before noon and we were VERY thankful for that. BUT.....I say all of that to say this...... That experience motivated me to start leaving PHL to MCO a day ahead of our resort check-in. So if I make reservations for a Saturday check-in then I fly out on Friday and stay in a inexpensive hotel for one night. It relieved me of the stress of losing valuable vacation time. So if I get delayed at the airport, I still have an entire day to arrive on time instead of losing a day. My husband says its just an excuse for me to be in Orlando earlier than needed..... but I don't care. Now I always advise anyone flying in, to check flights departing a day early...even if its a nighttime flight. Get an inexpensive room for 1 night and you can officially begin your vacation a few hours early. If there is a delay at the airport, then you still have an entire day before you miss out on anything !!!!! Just my thoughts......
