Pixie Dust needed for OKW Grand Villa!!

I just got off the phone with MS, trying to switch to a Grand Villa, from SSR home resort. I don't have enough points for a Grand Villa anywhere else. So I got added to the wait list and reserved a 2br & studio at OKW anyway.

So tell me your experiences with waitlists for Grand Villas @ OKW...Anyone??

Next year I will be trying for the same thing. Fortunately for us they now allow 9 in a two bedroom, and our family of 4 is going to vacation with a family of 5, so I am going to reserve a two bedroom at BCV (our home resort) with the two queen beds and then hope to move to the GV at OKW. We only have enough points for the GV at OKW. I wonder why the other GVs are so much more?

Anyway, wishing you luck! At least you have a back up plan. I have no idea how hard this will be to get. If I can't get the GV at OKW I will probably try to move over to a two bedroom there (instead of BCV) just because it is larger and we will have 9 people). But it would be SO cool to be in a GV together!

And we could all fit in a 2br but I'm getting a studio for SD & DIL. So we will be 6 in a 2br and 2 in the studio. I just had my heart set on that GRAND VILLA!!!

I really think that it will come through.

I haven't had much luck w/ GV waitlist in recent years. Thats why I purchased an additional contract/membership at OKW in 2002. We've owned at OKW since '94 and have added on as the other resorts came on line (50 VB, 100 BCV) I'd book the GV at the 11 month window for as much of the ressie as I could book other days at the other then at the 7 month 9am day by day -call to switch to OKW 2br & studio and get wait listed -- call daily within the 30 days prior. Twice this hasn't worked we'd move to the 2br & studio. Now we've not left it to chance for this Thanksgiving with the additional membership I was able to transfer into that account and swap some non OKW points with other owners so I had enough OKW points to make the ressie day by day at OKW.

I am a DVC member at OKW and reserved a GV for a November stay at the 11 month window. THen, just a few months before the trip, I wanted to add a night and was able to get it with one phone call...so you never know. By the way, the GV was awesome for our group of 6 women. Good luck to you!
