I just learned today that a good friend of my family has gone into hospice and isn't expected to live much longer.
She fought a long fight against breast cancer (and others that reared their ugly heads along with that one), and is one of the bravest women I have ever known, and a very good friend (she was also a fantastic hairdresser/cutter/sylist).
She would've been at our village hall tonight if she could, as she also served as an election judge.
As for anyone who has or is fighting cancer, here's my pixie dust to you and to my friend. While we can't win every battle, at least we can hopefully learn along the way to reduce the numbers of people who succumb to cancer.
Time to go and ponder life, as an event like this can prompt one to do.
