We’ve been going to Disney since before she was born. She loves all things Disney ❤️ so, of course, she wanted her first drink at Disney! We originally planned on Trader Sam’s (she’s been talking about that for years), but it’s closed. We’re celebrating on 12/29 and looking at park hours that week and dining options we are sooooooo limited! I talked to MS about Disney Floral and Gifts (on hiatus) or having a cake ordered (not happening). We’re staying at the Polynesian which is only 1/2 open 😔. The good thing is were staying in the 2 bedroom bungalows so it’s super special and we’re bringing her boyfriend along. Does anyone have any ideas on how we can really make this a birthday she’ll never forget? (Other than the fact that Covid has pretty much ruined everything)! Why does all the Christmas everything end on 12/30? Is it possible Disney is keeping something special a secret? We’ll be there 12/27-1-1.
Keeping my fingers crossed for some Pixie Dust! pixiedust:

I doubt Disney is keeping anything a big secret. They're going to avoid doing anything that can be leaked and become a crowd event. And any kind of fireworks is easily leaked, because the prep work for it is easily observed.

How about a special dinner at V&A or the California Grill? My guess is that either would make a cake or something special to honor the occasion.

A lot could change between now and then, so I think you will have options. Just being there for NYE will make for a memorable birthday trip.

Eta: I see V&A isn't open yet, but CG is open.

The dome cakes at Amorettes are really stunning. Pricey but they have that wow factor and are delicious. Another thing to consider is the in room celebrations offered by disney gift and floral. We were at AKL over halloween last year and a family friend surprised us with several in room celebrations. I'm sure they were not cheap, after some investigation I think they spent upwards of 600 on it, but wow did they not disappoint. Our whole room was decorated with spooky theming loads of swag and plushies. It was the highlight of our trip.

Edit- I see dis floral is currently on hiatus. That's really a shame 😕

We are celebrating my daughter's Sweet Sixteen in a few weeks. We are having dinner at California Grill. I contacted member services (we are DVC) about noting it on our reservation. Here is part of their response for celebrations.
"Small celebration cakes (6", non-personalized) are available upon request at the podium of most table service location without advance notice. If you would prefer a custom cake, we recommend contacting our Cake Hotline, (407) 827-CAKE (827-2253) to discuss available options and locations. Please allow at least 72 hours advance notice.

Special dietary cake orders are available through Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC by phoning (407) 938-9044.

At this time, Disney Floral & Gifts is not accepting new orders for in-room celebrations, gifts, and flowers; however, we invite you to contact them by phoning (407) WDW-GIFT (939-4438) or by visiting www.disneyflorist.com for the most up-to-date information."

Join the Ear for Each Other group on FB. Laid off cast members offering all sorts of products and services. Many are doing amazing cakes and other delicious treats and will deliver to resorts.

I’m wondering if my problem is exclusive to the Polynesian Resort because it’s closed. Disney Floral and Gifts will deliver to just about anywhere else! We’re dining at the California Grill for her birthday, so I’ll try to get a cake delivered there, fingers crossed 🤞

There is a FB group called EAR for you that is made of furloughed and laid off cast members, several of which are offering baked goodies and they will deliver to the resorts. There are several, you just need to look and see who has availability.

I will check it out 😊

I believe that’s the group I mentioned upthread called Ear for Each Other but there could be two.

You are correct - sorry the other is being used for a CM food bank logo and I interchanged them. Thank you for getting the correct information out there.
