Did you see this post on the Disboards? I was just wondering what was going to be done here. I don't see anything changed on the page. Are you going to end the swap or are you working on a way to continue it? I was just wondering because we are not going until August. I don't know what the rules are for people that have already paid in advance.

It has always been a rule on the DIS that anything involving money changing hands between members was not permitted on the boards. With that in mind, a decision has been made to end all swaps and shares that include money passing between DISers.

What does this mean?
Beginning today, all Photopass shares are over on the DIS. No new Photopass shares can be started.
Threads for existing Photopass shares will be locked on Friday of this week. Any new threads will be deleted beginning today.
Fridge and stroller swaps that are free can continue. However, if a refrigerator/stroller is lost or damaged, the swap leader cannot collect money from members to replace the lost/damaged item. Swaps may continue if an item is donated for the use of subsequent share members.
No new fridge or stroller swaps will be permitted to start unless the fridge/stroller is a donated item and the swap is free to all participants.
Any fridge or stroller swap that is not free to new members will be closed on Friday of this week. This will allow those leaders of swaps that are currently collecting money to decide whether they are willing/able to offer their swap for free. On Friday, any swap threads that are not free will be locked and their links will be removed from the sticky threads.

Oh Goodness! I go away for a day and all heck breaks loose around here! YIKES!!!! Well swappers, what do you think we should do? The swap is pretty much booked solid through the middle of july, then we've got some gaps. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel on making this a free swap. I'm afraid our poor pixie dust express will be run into the ground! If it's free, no one will take care of it. And we all don't want that to happen!!! Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Please pm me or post here if you do. I have dr's appts today but I'll be sure to answer any questions.

I'm hoping to continue the swap. But if we continue the swap as a free swap we need to make sure that everyone takes excellent care of the stroller!! That means no standing in it, not tossing it off the bus, not exceeding the weight limit and ultimately treating it as your own. I'm going to update the front page to eliminate the payment and the green paid signs so we don't get our thread locked. Please swappers let me know your feelings on this!!

Swappers what do you think? Any input? Should we continue as a free swap or just end the swap and return everyones money? If we end the swap, we could continue until June. I have a friend going to Disney during this time who could return the stroller to me. What are your thoughts?

You'll be going down in December, and it looks like there are no dates booked past then, so maybe we can make it through the end of the year, then you could take it home/donate it, whatever you feel is best. Of course I have a vested interest in making it last as long as possible since I'm signed on for the Fall.

If it won't work past June, that's fine too. We'll work out another stroller. I know you're right when you say if it's free, some people will abuse it. Of course if I were using something on loan, I'd be even more careful with it, because I wouldn't want the owner to be mad if I damaged it, but that's just me. I know others wouldn't be that way.

So my vote is, whatever is easiest for you since it's your stroller.

I am on board for keeping this going....then again I am not going until Dec. I promise to treat the stroller like it is my own and take very good care of it!! If there is any thing needed or any repair needed by the time that I go, I will be happy to help out any way I can. If everyone can keep you updated on how the stroller is holding up, that could help you make your decision also. Just my two cents.

Just giving this a bump before I have to go into work for a few hours. Do any of you swappers have any ideas where else we can move this swap to? We need to get some gaps filled so we don't run the risk of luggage services disposing of the stroller. I've listed the swap on the TGM a few days ago but haven't had any response yet. I've also started a yahoo group but it doesn't seem to be showing up in search yet. I'll still research some more after I get home tonight and see what we can come up with. Lets put our thinking caps on swappers!

Soooo....this stinks!

aarrgghh...all I can say is that I would be highly depressed if I were unable to get the stroller...I might cry and pout and then cry again...lol

What was wrong with the way things were going? I am new to all of this but I would most definitly take great care of this stroller...I dunno...It would seem unfair to have already been promised this and not having to worry about getting a stroller to having to start all over again. Just my honest opinion and nothing towards you!! I was sooo happy to find this swap and now I am scared that we are going to be right back at square one~ with no stroller.

I was signed up for June 24 till July 1...Im concerned what this will mean now.

I must go pout till further notice...can you not like...make a myspace group or something and then possibly run it from there?

Im sure you are totally frustrated as well...did this come as a shock or had there been talk? *sigh*
