Pixar Place Superthread

I can't believe they're doing that! It was such a great perk.
It was but it wasn't used enough to justify having the staff there. While disappointing, I actually understand that cut. Moving the staff to other, busier entrances is probably a smart move.

We had a great stay at Pixar Place at the end of August! We had room 1408, premium view, was SUCH a great view and so high up we left the curtains open most nights. We also stayed club level. I wrote a review of that in the Pixar Place Club Level thread.

No bathrobes in the room (to answer my own question), but we did get two bottles of Dasani water, haha.

We loved our stay, the rooms were SO clean, they came in twice a day: regular daily clean in the morning, then a turn down in the evening where they brought chocolates, turned on the evening lighting etc, and also tidied up any wet hand towels in the bathrooms. We didn't spend a ton of time in the room, but it was spacious enough for the three of us, we didn't unpack, just dressed out of our luggage.

The bathroom has only one sink, but was big enough for us to all stand and brush our teeth. We don't love the sliding barn door (who does?) as it was a bit clunky when it closed. The shower was spacious and clean (I think they must have squeegeed the glass door daily!) with shampoo, conditioner and body wash on the wall. The sink had liquid hand soap and lotion. Plus there was a toothbrush with mini toothpaste and floss stick, q tips, mini razor and shaving cream, shower cap, and I think I'm missing something, but we were impressed with how well stocked it was!

We had ZERO issues with the elevators in either direction. We usually went down to the lounge for breakfast (2nd floor) around 7, came back for mid day breaks and pool trips (3rd floor), and went back to the parks in the evenings. Never did we wait so long that we started to worry at all. I am pretty sure based on room availability that it was close to fully booked too so I am not sure why some people seem to have issues - we did hear people complaining while IN the elevators, but maybe it's a self fulfilling thing where people are expecting the elevators to be bad so if they perceive the wait to be ever so slightly too long they'll complain? I am not sure! We just looked out the window until it came, haha.

The pool was nice, always some shaded loungers for us, pool itself wasn't fancy and one day it was shut down for mystery cleaning, but it was big enough for the # of people there at any given time. Small splash pad, and decent waterslide we all enjoyed.

We saw Bing Bong in the lobby a couple times! and liked looking around at the art work. We didn't eat in any on site restaurants, so no reviews there. The food at the pool bar looked and smelled really good though when people were eating around us and the prices seemed reasonable.

We watched the fireworks from the pool level one night, it was fine, I'm not the biggest fireworks person, but it worked because we were all tired so DD and I both had a chance to shower and then put on our comfy clothes/PJs and went down to watch then headed right up to bed!

The walk to the parks was fine, we went through either the PPH DCA entrance (before noon going in, and any time coming out), or through the GCH. We never had more than 10 people in front of us at any security or entrance line. We went into DCA the first day around 2:30, next morning we arrived at CGH DTD security around 7:40 and walked right through, through the DL entrance and were waiting for rope drop at 7:50 (not an EE morning). The next day we went to DCA for EE-ish, arrived at about 7:40, no waiting anywhere but Incredicoaster wasn't running yet, so we went over to Guardians for a 15 minute wait. Felt like a bit of a long walk from the PPH entrance, but we got ahead of the rope drop people at least. I think overall we picked a quiet few days, so we got lucky that way.

Finally we enjoyed the hotel guest perk of trick or treating at the 3 hotels! It was a fun afternoon activity and DD got a lot of candy! (DH and I were offered bags too, but we couldn't bring that much home anyway).

We would definitely stay here again and would also do club level again, but we MIGHT try DLH next time just because we haven't stayed there yet.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Disney resorts are the BEST. Glad you enjoyed your visit! Maybe if I leave a bit earlier for Disneyland come December I might visit DLH before entering those magical gates…
