Was wondering if anyone thinks they might gradually open parts of Pixar Pier leading up to the late-June opening date, or if they will just open everything on June 23rd?

My wife and I will be there June 7th-10th so I'm essentially just dreaming and hoping we might get to see some parts of it or ride something...

If anything it would likely be one or two days early. Not two weeks. Sorry.

We miss it by just two days so I know your pain.

They've already opened Knick's Knacks store and the Adorable Snowman ice cream shop. Both of these are at the beginning of the pier near the Cove Bar. They could open other things as they finish them too, but I expect the coaster won't open more than a few days early if at all.

Guess I just got my hopes up a little when they opened the Adorable Snowman Treats early...

They had the coaster test-running (no people!) all weekend long. They were running multiple coasters at the same time. There is still a ton of scaffolding though. The rest of the pier is boarded up, they even have moved stroller parking for Toy Story to the area next to the Cove Bar.

I would also guess that they'll open up the food kiosks and shops as they become ready (especially the ones closest to areas that are already/still open), but I don't think the attractions (Incredicoaster and Pal-Around Ferris Wheel) will open until 6/23. There might be a hard ticket event the night before or some media preview days ahead of the 23rd. (If anything might have a soft opening a day or two early, I would guess it would be the Lamplight Lounge restaurant just so they can work out the kinks before the official opening.)

I saw 3 trains running on Saturday. Two of them had been partially repainted the new color scheme (fully painted but missing the logos) and one was the yellow train that they’ve been using for testing all along that hasn’t been to the paint shop yet.

Does Disneyland not do passholder and DVC preview weekends like at WDW? We are coming from FL for our first trip to Disneyland and we are there June 4-9. I thought maybe they would do a preview but doesn't sound like it. The 2 rides my daughter was most looking forward to are the 2 rides that are closed down.

Not usually. They sometimes do. They did AP and DVC previews when BTMRR reopened after they replaced the track a few years ago, the ride reopened on like a Monday and the 3/4 days prior it was open for AP/DVC previews. Same happened for Luigi’s and Peter Pan. However with guardians, they did very limited cm previews interspersed with media previews and for the public there was an upcharge event the day before it reopened.

I don't forsee PP being done very far ahead of schedule. When you ride the Silly Swings, you can see into the whole area and at this point, it's just a bunch of blank plywood facades and a SERIOUS amount of work going on inside what used to be the stores. The whole area is a disaster right now. It's not close to being ready. Also, while they are testing trains, there is still a LOT of work to be done with that ride. I do not believe any of the station has been significantly worked on yet, nor have the animatronics and interior tunnel elements been added. That's the bulk of the work. The train testing is simply testing the new launch mechanism.

I'm hoping Fresno ABC station sends Cory James to cover the media event.
I'd like to see how he does on the Incredicoaster.
His clip covering GOTG opening is something else.
Poor guy....

I've heard rumor of a hard ticket event for Pixar Pier. I doubt they will open much prior to that. (Why bother paying for the event...)
