Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! parade photos

I haven't seen this yet (we will be at DHS on Friday) but it sounds like its no where near the caliber that BPB was (we loved BPB). We did catch the Move It, Shake It parade yesterday at MK and that wasn't very good at all - not sure what Disney is thinking but I agree with previous posters that it seems like they are scaling back in all the parade areas (maybe budget reasons???)

Let's hope this follows the same path as the Stitch show at MK and they give up on this..or at least realize they need to kick it up a notch. :sad2:

Isn't this the same thing they did at MK when they changed from Year of a Million Dreams to Celebrate a Dream Come True?

We saw the transition parade in January 2009 and I think all they changed was the music. Then they fully made it "Celebrate" a week later and all they did was take out the Villains float.

I truly loved the Green Army Men in the BPB and will miss them.

I do think they will satisfy more people by showing them the entire parade at DHS, rather than having to choose or get randomly lucky regarding the movie characters you will see. It's more generic that way which, unfortunately, is the way Disney has to do everything now. Make it as generic and "fair" to everyone as possible - or they will complain and complain loudly!

New regime running the Theme Park division Scared of what's next ! :scared1:

All I can say is "Really"?!?!? I love all the parades and make my family wait 30-45 minutes just to get a good seat. At least BPB there was some action! This was almost painful to watch. Yes, you get to see the characters, but that's about it. My family will be happy, when we're there in the fall, that will be one less parade we have to see. Just so sad for me. Where's the magic?

Well, now I know not to spend time waiting for it. Honestly there are better parades in almost every "small town USA".

It's like they are serving up freshly squeezed orange juice in California and then trying to pass off Orange Kool Aid in Florida.
Shame, shame.

:thumbsup2 Best analogy ever!

Boring... The one thing I liked about Block Party Bash was how it was interactive. DS loved getting to be part of the dancing during BBB. This is just another boring pararde... HS should have something different.... It's a movie-performance kind of place. It should be a bash/show... not just a parade.

If you haven't done so I encourage you to send a letter. Keep it firm but be polite. I know I will be sending one soon.

it's all characters I can see elsewhere..

There are several characters in the parade you cannot see anywhere.

Are all of the characters, or most available for meet & greets throughout the DHS, or is the parade necessary to see them all?

The following characters are not available for meet and greets and only appear in the parade:

Toy Story Unit:
Bullseye (available only at Special Events)

Bug's Life Unit:
Princess Atta
Gypsy Moth
Slim
Heimlich

Monster's Inc. Unit:
Needleman
Smitty
Boo

Ratatouille Unit:
Remy
Emile (to be added in February)

Up Unit:
Carl
Dug
Russel

The following Pixar characters are available for meet a greets:

Incredibles Unit:
Mr. Incredible
Mrs. Incredible
Frozone

Toy Story Unit:
Woody
Buzz
Jessie

Bug's Life Unit:
Flik

Monster's Inc. Unit:
Sully
Mike

Additionally:
Mater and Lightning McQueen have a meet and greet, but do not appear in the parade.

Nemo characters appear in the show at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The only Pixar movie not present anywhere in the park is Wall-E.

Really, REALLY disappointed in this parade.

I was disappointed when I heard BPB was going to be retired and replaced, but I had confidence that Disney would come back with something just as good, maybe even better. How wrong was I?

Some of my gripes with this parade: Music is repetitive and far less engaging than BPB; the repainted BPB "block" floats look cheap and exactly what they are, repurposed; virtually no interaction with the crowd, especially disappointing for the kids (that's not the performers' fault, there simply isn't time!); far less energy, far less choreography, just simply far less. ...and it's too darn fast and short! Just under six minutes start to finish. If you blink, you're sure to miss one of the characters scooting by. It's definitely not a "must see" or something I'd try to work into my schedule to see.

Quite a step backward from BPB. :(

I watched the video and this was my thoughts exactly. I love watching parades and have to say I have no care to stop what I'm doing to make sure I get a spot for this one.

Gotta wonder what is the thought process behind this....

I guess I have just came to expect "top notch" and amazing from WDW

We too could skip this parade

I hope they change it by our September visit:confused::sad2:
