Pixar Fest, Halloween OR February?! HELP!?

Pixar Fest will end Labor Day Weekend, so if you want to see the Pixar Play Parade in DL and the things associated with Pixar Fest, you'll need to visit before early September this year. There has been no official word whether PTN will remain in DCA beyond Labor Day Weekend. Lots of people hope so. Pixar Pier in DCA will open June 23rd. March can be tricky for trip planning because you have low season or Spring Break. Usually there is something like the Food & Wine Festival in DCA to pull in more locals, too. So it depends on when in March.

We can’t go this year at all. But we can really go anytime next year between feb and before Star Wars land opens.

Late September is likely the best bet if you want lower crowds. February can be really dicey, a lot of schools get ski week, a long weekend, 2 Monday’s off for presidents days, etc. I’ve gone in Feb and been blown away by how crowded it was! Early October gets into fall break for AZ and some other states, so my pick of your list would be last week of September!

I think it depends on your family. If your family loves villains and Halloween - go Halloween time. Just a note that if you go in September during the week expect super short park hours. I went last year the end of September and DL's hours were 10am - 9pm. Though that might work well for your kids but for me and my friends we prefer the long hours.

If you like Pixar characters I would go during Pixar fest. I just got back and while I like Pixar I'm a Mickey fan through and through so I would have been fine with missing it.

For February - I don't know if the crowds are really low but just remember there will most likely be rides down for refurbishment.

Personally I LOVE Halloween time and Disney does a great job decorating and atmosphere. So if I can only go once per year I'll usually pick Halloween time.
