Pity means beating someone up

The other day I overheard my son telling my daughter that the word "pity" means to beat someone up. Of course we corrected him, but then we asked him why he said that.
He said he got it from hearing Mr. T. Mr.T would always say "I pity the fool", and my son just assumed that he was saying that he was going to beat up the fool.
So the next time you are watching a movie, and some poor little orphan says to someone, "have pity on me, sir", think of this, and try not to crack up.

Kids are so funny. I'll bet if parents sat down and quizzed their young ones on a variety of topics the answers would be hilarious. My DD thought Rice Krispy Treats were called Nice Crispy Treats. She also thought a "sin" was a "magical wish." That one came out in Sunday school. :)

That is funny! I always enjoy hearing kids' interpretations of words and phrases.
