Pittsburgh Zoo Ring-Disney Connection???

I was going through my late father's watch collection and found a child's Pittsburgh Zoo ring with an elephant on it. On the back of the ring, it is marked "Walt Disney Prod." I never knew of a Disney/Pittsburgh Zoo connection. I emailed the buyer at the Pittsburgh Zoo. She had been in her position for 15 years and was not aware of a Disney connection and never ordered a ring like this for their stores.

I'm so curious and would appreciate any information.
