I'm going taking my DD school shopping tomorrow. I can't decide between South Hills Village and Century III. Which do you prefer?

I'd suggest Century III - it's a "newer" mall and much larger than South Hills Village so you'll have more stores to choose from. Also, there's a strip mall next to Century III called Southland that has even more stores.

I think for school shopping, Century III would be better.

South Hills Village is smaller and has more "upscale" shops. They do not have a JC Penneys, C III does. There is a Burlington Coat Factory that just moved to the top of the hill above CIII, I don't know how old your daughter is but we got my grade school nieces & nephews clothes there before when they were in Southland. There's also a Kids-r-us in Southland.

I vote for century III It has so many things there. Much larger than South Hills Village. Robinson is also huge between the mall and all the surrounding area but no Disney Store.

Wow, I have not heard those names in many years. I went to college in S.W. Pennsylvania and visited at least one of those malls a number of times.

Hi,
I would say Century III for the prices but the place is really going downhill and has a gang element problem (for this reason, my kids are NOT allowed to go there with their friends). South Hills Village is more upscale but 'safer' imo. Actually, I would go to Robinson Township, many more choices.....

Wendy,

You are right about the gangs, I never go to Century III at night, mostly just on Saturday afternoons. I made the mistake of going once on a Friday night, never again. I haven't been out to the Mall at Robinson, I have to make a trip out there.

Debbie,
I know a person who owned a small shop in C3 and broke their lease, they told me there is a high incidence of rape (about 1 per week), this was a few years ago, hopefully they have gotten that under control. I prefer to avoid malls that have a permanent police station in them....

wahhhhhhh I'm home sick now. :( I need to take a trip up there.

Miss Jasmine, you won't be homesick in January when we have tons of snow and it's below zero and you're enjoying 70 degree days!! :teeth: :teeth:
