Just back from my first trip to Orlando and had a fantastic time. Only real fly in the ointment was the Pirates Dinner Show.

If anyone is thinking of going to this can I advise against it. IMHO it was the biggest waste of money and time of my trip.

Two adults and two kids including tip (which I felt intimidated into giving) cost me a whacking $185. The show was average but the food was worse than scool dinners and you just felt you were herded from one place to another. So save yourself the cash and avoid this show.

On the opposite side of the scale was the Terminator show at Universal, mind blowing stuff still smile when I think about it now.

Yes I meant Terminator 4D, I saw the show twice and each time it took my breath away.

Another excellent memory was the 'Jaws' ride at Universal, my 9 year old son grabbed my wifes hand as we were getting off the boat and said worriedly
"its just a pretend shark isn't it mum"

What a great holiday, hopefully I will be back in 2006.

We also felt intimidated to give a larger tip than we wou;ld otherwise have done as we thought it was poor value for money:( :( :(

Where did you buy your tickets from? That seems a lot to me, especially when attraction tickets direct are offering the Pirates dinner show at £20 per adult and £15 for kids (which is probably all it's worth). I hate to offer advice after the event, but there's no way anyone should pay ticket-office prices for the dinner shows as there are always discount to be had.

Sorry you had such a poor experience :(

we bought out tickets through ticketmania, so got a discount but the tip was specified snd they stood by till you gave the stated amount, it was made pretty clear that you would not get away with less!!! cant remember the exact amount but was something like $35:mad:

not sure if its connected but theres another post which seems to be indicating the discounted tickets have removed the tip which they then excpect to be paid to make up the differance...Seems like one shows trying to take a cut back from the discount market...
