I continually hear people across social media saying, "There is zero chance I'm ever watching another Pirates film without Depp ever." And you know what? Every one of these sheep will still watch because it's Disney and they always watch Disney movies. If these rebooted films are any good and word of mouth gets around, of course they are going to watch these sans-Depp films.

I think what you might find is those folks won't PAY to go see it at theaters, but rather wait until it hits Disney+.

No reason to be hostile and insulting about it. Just saying there are likely some saying they won't give Disney money, so they are boycotting the theater. And maybe they will watch when it's free. Ultimately boycott means not paying for something, withholding $$.

No. What I'm saying is that I have zero interest in watching another pirate movie, especially without Johnny. It's like the Point Break remake. I don't have to watch it to know it's going to be bad. Just like I don't need to watch the remake of Red Dawn to know the same thing. Sometimes you move on. There is a lot of Disney content that I have zero desire to watch.

You are mixing up causal Disney movie fans with the Johnny Depp fan community. Two very different things.
The Johnny Depp fan community wont be going to the premieres and there wont be as big a PR and media hype.
Other than the premier at Disneyland, as its a Disney movie about a ride, like they have always done, there wont be the big worldwide premiers with people sleeping on the street overnight in the international territories, like London.

Yes people did sleep on the street for the movie premiers just to talk to Johnny Depp. I did it in London for the premier of Sweeny Todd.

Casual Disney movie fans might not go to the cinema but will probably watch it on Disney+

The Johnny Depp fan community, people like me, wont go to the cinema and wont watch it on Disney+. I know that everything watched and Disney+ is tracked and analyzed and what is watched and how many people watch it is just as important a metric as cinema ticket sales.
