Pirates Treasure Room

I have gone into that room quite a few times and always see people walking up to the chests and then saying "Yo Ho Silver" and such. How does a person open these chests, as I have tried walking up to them and nothing happens

if you win pirates 3 times on a level you will get a key they were just saying the magical words, its a saingle use magic pin

You can get keys to open these chests by playing the Pirate game. Three wins for any one game level in either Capture the Flag or Ship Battle will give you a key; bronze for level one, silver for level two, or gold for level three. The keys will be with your pins. To use one, put it on and stand by the corresponding chest in the treasure room. When you double click on the key in your "use magic" icon at the bottom of your screen, the chest will open, sometimes (but not always!) giving you a prize. (Note: If you get an empty chest, at least it gives you 100 credits.)

Thank you sooooo very much for your explanation!! I guess I need to find someone who will "let me win" and already has the pin, otherwise, I will never get it I am so horrible at that game, as well as the Haunted Mansion game

Welcome! All you need to do is open a "who wants to play pirates with me" thread. People will respond and play with you.

We have a special variation that we play with DIS members only so everyone wins. We call it DIS rules.

It's basically simple, play capture the flag, one team wins first round, other team wins second round, first team wins third round and the game. Next game, second team wins first round, first team wins second round, second team wins third round and the game. No shooting each other (although Maleficent2 and PurpleDuck have been known to get into their own little battle off to the side while the other team members get the flags! It's ugly when the Witch and the Duck go at it!). Actually that helps the scoring, but that's another story.

As the sign says, everything I needed to know, I learned in kindergarten. In this case, it's turn taking!

We can do this all night and everybody gets a key every sixth game (since you are taking turns winning, you win every second game, so it takes six games for both teams to win three each). It's also much faster because you are not sitting around waiting for people to join. And it's nice because nobody's going to tell you that you "sock" and can't play!

It's the only way I'll play any more.

Wow, I'm super glad I clicked on this thread. Thanks for asking the question Tigger and thanks for all the info Dara.

I never, ever, ever, play pirates, EVER! First of all I am terrible at it. Second of all the mean little buggers that toss insults around never give you a chance to learn. I had my nine year old win battle for me so I could get my car or dive suit or whichever.

I will definitely keep an eye out for Dis members so I can get some pirate play under my belt! Thanks again!!

I am in California, so generally I do not get on until 10am or so and then I generally stay online until about 8pm.

I have to go out of town next week to my parents, so I am hoping to *still* get online for a bit while I am down there. But I go down to help them, so I do not want to be sitting there all day on their computer playing and ignoring them. Guess that would not be the "daughterly" thing to do

I mentioned in another post, believe it was "What should I say if I see you!", that I can generally be found in my room "VMK New Ride" as I have a ton of codes to enter. In fact ..... heading off to VMK now !!

Sorry we did not get to connect today. I think this may be the first day in a very long time that I only played 1 game of pirates all day. Wow!

My title in vmk is Jegrezo. (Some ppl call me Dreams. Let's me know that they know me from Dis without saying so. )

If you are going to be on at all tomorrow (saturday) post here and we can play some pirates together. Aarrr!

As for the daughterly thing to do - hmm, wish I could say I have never play vmk at my mother's house, but that would be an outright lie. What can I say? Sometimes I need a break, even when I am at Mom's.

We'll connect. And then we can hit the pirate seas.
