How often so they so the stunt show at pirates lair, daily? I hope so. Also, how are the crowds since the reopening of the island? We are going to be there on weekdays (June 4th-7th).

I am bumping this because I am curious about this question too.

I could be mistaken but I believe there are 4 or 5 shows daily.

Have they already started the stunt show? There is nothing on the Disneyland website about it, at least not on their calendar.

I'm bumping this because I KNOW someone out there has an answer to this. I also want to know how busy Pirates Lair is in the summer... since I am planning on going in the middle of August.. Will it even be worth it to go over there. I have a feeling so many people are going to be over there and it will be like a cattle call... Someone please prove me wrong!

Thankfully we have the Nemo Subs to balance things out. If no one else gets to it I will post some info after our trip the week after next.

I'm curious about this too. Seemed to me, in the past, the island didn't open until an hour or so after park opening so I'm wondering when the island even opens, what the wait times are, if the pirate show times are regularly scheduled, etc.

I early await your report Hydro guy!

I'll be at DL/DCA on Tues and DL on Wed this week so I'll post something if my wireless works at the hotel. Spent today packing for our trip!!!! :cool1: :cheer2:  :dance3:

When i was at DLR on June 3-5th, they appeared to be taking raftful of folks over to the island starting 1/2 hour to an hour after gen. adm. rope drop.

We went over there on Monday 6/4 (before Nemo) at about 11:30 am. No line going over. We poked around the island for a half hour, & when we arrived back at the dock, the Pirates show was in progress. We stood in the back and watched about 10 minutes of it. When it was over, we quickly walked over to the raft (we were in the back)....and again we walked on the raft...(no line).

I know this doesn't answer your question, but gives you an idea of what to expect. The 10 min. of the show was pretty funny and a little irreverent.
I would suspect like most things at DL....:

- early is better than later.
- weekdays is better than weekends.

Hopefully someone will report the # of performances (& the times).

My family was there a week ago, on June 9 & June 10.

We were on Tom Sawyer Island from about Noon - 1:15 on Saturday 6/9. We walked through the performance area when we first got off the raft; then about half an hour later the kids asked to see if there was a show over there. So we walked back to that end of the island. We got there about 12:45 and the show had just ended and the CMs were re-setting all the props for the next show which wasn't until 2:30. We have APs, so we all agreed to try and see it next time.

The Entertainment Times Guide that they give you when you walk into the park only had the hours for the rafts. The show description just stated: "And don't miss a real, live swashbuckling adventure, in which Jack Sparrow crosses swords with a back-stabbing crew of scoundrels!"

So if I have to guess, the shows are 2 hours apart, starting at 12:30. Maybe the Entertainment Guide has been updated and someone can post if there are show times listed?

Just back from DL 6/12-6/14. We had no wait getting on/off the island, but the rafts were full. We were told by a CM on Tom Sawyer's Island that a stunt show was starting at 2:25 (after the 2pm singers), but unfortunately, 2:25 came and went, and we and the large group waiting were then told that the next stunt show was scheduled for 3:25. I'm still not sure what happened...if the first CM was misinformed, or if they canceled the show at the last minute. Either way, TSI was nice to see!

Thanks jlima and goofy for the feedback. Sounds like they are still getting things ramped up on PLATSI and we will just have to ask and hope for the best.

At the moment the time for the stunt show is not listed in the daily entertainment guide, but they seem to start at 25 minutes after the hour. The one show I saw started at 3:25 - I was there at 2:25 but there seems to be a long break between the 1'ish show and the next one. The Bootstrappers performed around 2:30, though, and the two supporting cast pirates (who are part of the show, but not Jack Sparrow or the other main pirate character), came out and interacted a bit with the audience after the Bootstrappers finished. As part of their act they fired the cannon. Both the Bootstrappers and the supporting pirates came out again prior to the stunt show.

The rafts to the island started operating 30 minutes after the park opened, and I believe the closing time was listed as 5:30.

So, it's sounding like it's almost always a walk-on for the raft to TSI...correct? I'm excited to see it, although I regret never having visited it before the changes.

The rafts weren't a walk-on when I was there June 10-11 - though the wait to go over to island was never more than one raft load. But coming back off the island was a longer wait - at least 2-3 rafts worth of people were in line on the island. Still, it's a lot shorter than a two hour wait for Nemo! :-)

I'm going on Wednesday with two 8 year old boys. They should give me a good review of the island!
