Would you say the pirates of the caribbean ride is suitable for a 18 month old? Does it have height restrictions, etc etc?

Should be no problem for a 18 month old. We took our daughter the first time when she was nine month old. On her first "journey" she felt sleep where the big ship is :rotfl:
But it still depends on your child. I would not recommend it, if he/she is afraid of the dark and strange noises. If he/she isn't go for it

We took my 16 month old niece on it last year & she loved it.

As mentioned though if your child doesn't like the dark then I wouldn't recommend it.

My almost 3 yr old absolutely refused to get back on it - she hated the dark.

My 20 month old, rather adventurous and spirited, was scared his first time through. He did not cry, he just had a look of concern on his face the entire time. By his second and third times through, he enjoyed it more.
As other people have said, it depends on the child.
