I noticed that Pirates will be down in November...does anyone know how long that is scheduled to last?

Oh no!! I hope it is completed when we get there right after thanksgiving. DD3 is so into pirates now I think she'll have a blast on the ride, but she thinks all pirates are named Johnny Depp :)

I hadn't seen this. When in November is it suppose to go down?

Star Tours and Pirates are my kids favorite rides. Having both of them down would be enough to change our plans.

The calendar on the DLR website is showing it down on November 2nd. That is as far as the calendar is updated so far.

This has the potential to ruin our trip.:sad1:

It's ONE attraction. There are 2 Parks, over 40 attractions, parades, shows, characters, music, fireworks, shops, gorgeous and detailed decor, and whatever spirit and fun you bring with you.

If one closure can truly ruin your trip, I think there is a lot you are leaving undiscovered.

Hopefully it will be open for your trip, but remember, it's ONE thing in an offering of SOOOOO many amazing experiences.

Honestly, I understand what she is saying. While it could be argued to be over the top to say the trip is ruined by one ride being closed, if it were me and my favorite ride (Splash Mountain) were closed, I'd be very, very disappointed. It might not ruin my trip, but I would have a LOT of regrets about the timing. Also, you have to allow for the fact that her response came immediately after hearing the news. Most likely, she will think it out and come to realize that, as you said, there are lots of other great things to do at Disneyland. If what the previous poster said is true, there's nothing to worry about anyway if the refurb is only for two days! :goodvibes

Gonna be crossing my fingers on this one! It wouldn't ruin our trip but it would sure throw a wrench in our plans since we wanted to have our Thanksgiving meal at Blue Bayou which is also showing to be closed. I tried calling DIsney earlier today but had no luck getting any inside info. I did also read over on Micechat that it was only for a couple of days. I sure hope so!

The last thing that Disney is Stupid about is making money. Does anyone honestly think they would intentionally close Blue Bayou for Thanksgiving? Or for that matter have Prirates closed for that week?

I predict it is closing to add a Christmas overlay. How about a new seasonal audio track...?

"Ho ho, ho ho, a Christmas Tree for me...." :santa:

If it is that big of a deal you may want to consider going at a different time of year next time. :teacher:

I love it! Sounds good to me! :rotfl:

(Sorry for barging in...not new here, but I've been away for a while!)

Hey, you're talking about my OCD ride. This is critical information. That's the only ride I always go on because it's always open with a short line. The ride's longer than the line. Heck, Saturday evening, they were sending out empty boats. I haven't missed Pirates since it was closed for movie re-theming and I don't plan to miss it any time soon. :)

Pirates of Caribbean is not on the refurb list for November 4th, which means it is only for two days! :goodvibes

The Disneyland website was the first place I went this morning to check on this!! We are going the 5th and 6th and my 3 yr old would have been crushed if it was closed, so so glad it will be open for my little pirate!!

You are so lucky! Both of my kids hate this ride. :( It's one of my faves, so we force them to go on it anyway, though! I don't think there's hope for my 9yo, but I'm hoping my 5yo might like it this year.
