Pirates & Princess Parties Have Been Cancelled????

There is a thread on the Theme Parks board about the Pirates & Princess parties being cancelled?! Someone tried to buy tickets and the CM told her the parties have been cancelled, then someone else posted that at first they just cancelled the early parties, but now all of them have been cancelled. Anyone hear about this? I can't believe it, we went to one last year and thought it was awesome!

We went to the party last year and my family really enjoyed it, but I heard it had not been selling as well as they hoped. From everything I have heard so far, they are not going to have them this year. I guess we can hope for the future.

We asked about them for our trip in Feb/09, and they told us they had been canceled then with no plans to start them up again. This was in Jan. and they still had the ads for them on the website -- but they're gone now

Yup, a ticket to the Pirate and Princess Party was supposed to be included with the Princess Half Marathon 2 weeks ago. Everyone was refunded their money for that part of the registration (the PPP part) when they cancelled the party. I think it's another cost-cutting move for Disney.

UGH! How disappointing. I just listened to an old podcast where the team went to the first PPP. Besides the rain, it sounded like a lot of fun. Oh well...maybe next year.

we had so much fun on our 1st one in February 2008, that we went to another one 4 or 5 days later!

it was really like having Disney to yourself. So many rides were walk on to 10 minute wait. One of the only times I've gone on Peter Pan, because I'm not about to wait an hour for that little ride. It was a 10 minute, or less wait each night. I got tired of going on so many rides!! It was worth the money, but Disney must not have been making much money on them.
