Pirates Premiere!!!!

So it sounds as if the Pirates 3 premiere will be May 19. I didn't plan this, but I could rearrange my trip and actually be at DL that day.

Does anybody know how the premiere works though? Do you have to have an invite to the event, stockholder, nephew of Bruckheimer? Or do they let in a certain amount of fans (as long as you've paid for your admission) to watch the stars proceed on Main Street? It always looks as if it's just fans/tourists lining the red carpet at the past premieres? I really don't care to actually be at the premiere (see the movie along the river bank), but wouldn't want to miss the chance of a lifetime to stand on Main Street and take a few pictures? Thanks for the info!

its pretty much a private party. Even cast members cant get in on that day...

You can wait on Main Street to see the stars come in, but plan on staking out your spot right when the park opens that day! We were there at that time last June, but didn't go in on the day of the premier. Our friends did and they waited all day (from like 6:30am) until the stars began arriving at about 6pm. They got lucky and were standing right next to the Entertainment Tonight crew! They got to see everyone close up.

As far as I know you cannot see the movie without some kind of special ticket, but waiting for the famous people you most definately can do!

I went last year and it was a veryyyyyy long day, amazing but long. I was in line at 3am and got to open the park. You just pay for regular admission and then stake out your spot all day long. Make friends with those around you so that you can get food and go to the bathroom. People who come later in the day will try and sneak into your spots especially when the park is closing. Bring snacks, games, cards, suncreen, a blanket or towel to sit on, lots of film/ batteries for your camera, and something for the stars to sign. Be prepared because people got crazy when the stars come out. It was stressful but well worth it because I got Johnnys and Orlandos autograph as well as many others.
