Pirates & Pals Fireworks Dessert Voyage

Looking for any and all experiences with this. I booked it but not sure if it's worth the $$$. We are staying at BLT TPV with my 78 yo mom. Trying to make these last trips extra special.

We have done it twice, fall of 2015 and fall of 2016. We had a blast the first time. Dessert was standard, nothing exceptional. But we enjoyed meeting/pictures with Captain Hook and Smee during the dessert portion. Our pirate guide for our first voyage was awesome! He was very entertaining with singing, jokes, and games. We cruised a bit on the lake and saw the Electrical Water Pageant. Then we headed to the middle of the lake to get a spot for the fireworks. We had a great view!

Our second time doing it was so so. The desserts were the same as expected and the character meet was fun. Our pirate guide was just a bummer. The first pirate guide we had was just really good at entertaining and keeping everyone involved. This pirate guide was kind of boring. This time we didn’t have time to see the EWP either, just get to our spot for the fireworks. Still a great view!

I will most likely try to do it again one day. We just have been trying other things. I really think it is the pirate guide that will make it feel truly worth it, all though the fireworks view is excellent especially for Hallowishes which is the show we saw both times.

We loved this. View of fireworks is great but from that vantage point you’ll miss the projections so I wouldn’t make this your only HEA viewing. Our pirate captain was great, asking Disney trivia questions and giving little prizes for correct answers. We loved the characters as well. Was a great time

We did this experience in 2017 and loved it. I will second the comments above. The desserts aren't anything special (cake, chips, ice cream bars, etc.) but you are paying for the experience. It was well worth it to have my son (who LOVES pirates) spend time with Captain Hook and Smee not only for pictures but also for a little bit of a dance party while waiting to go on the boat. Our pirate captain was amazing, and it was also new to everyone in our group to watch the fireworks from the lake (yes the projections will be hard to see but a much better view of the overall fireworks). We sang songs, told jokes and the kids played trivia to win pirate prizes (all kids got one). There is also a nice surprise at the end of the cruise. Since we had booked right at 180 days, our assigned seats were the first two rows of the boat. We were the first ones on and off, which made us the first to the surprise at the end (if you don't want to be surprised, just google and you will find out what it is). My son was 7 at the time and still talks about it today.

This has been around for a long time. I did it the first time in I think 2003 or so. Back then there was no dessert though and Tink met us after the boat ride. I think it was just a DVC thing then. We went again in 2017. Now it’s better with the addition of the dessert part (though the desserts are not as varied as the other dessert parties). There are activities and games for the kids during the dessert party, then you meet Smee and hook for a picture. You get assigned to a boat and you have to wear a bandana, like a pirate. My DD was picked as first mate and she got to carry the pirate flag. If it’s cold they give you blankets for the boat ride. And with the movement of the boat you won’t be able to get great pictures of the fireworks. But it’s a fun experience, we plan on booking it again for our upcoming trip.

I did this with my son and we really enjoyed it. He was about 7 at the time. Earlier that day, he had an appointment at Pirates League to get made up like a pirate and we brought his pirate costume. He got lots of attention since he was in full pirate gear and also got to carry the flag and lead our boat down to the dock.

How many people in your party? We've done both the Pirates & Pals and a private fireworks cruise. Since there were 9 of us, the private one was actually the less expensive option and it was nice to just be our own group. It's been a few years, but the cost was around $300-$350 for a boat that held 10 and less for the type that held 8. We had the music, packaged snacks and drinks all on our own boat. Both experiences were a great way to end our trips. Enjoy!
