Opening will be good, but I'm worried that it's going to fall flat, for any of a number of reasons.

Not the least of which is totally unreasonable expectations. Sorta like Cars.

Man! I am WAY OVER optimistic. I have been guessing 200 million. I think it is going to blow everything else outta the water for film bounty this year.

No one has done $200 million in their first weekened. The biggest first weekend draw (an it was a Wednesday to Sunday) was Spider Man 2 I believe. Pirates won't get near that. It was somewhere in the neighborhood of $140 million.

$77 mill opening weekend, with legs. I've talked to a lot of people who have been impatiently waiting for this one. I think there's a core group who will see it multiple times. If the movie is good, I think we may see big final numbers. If it's just ok I still think we'll still see very respectable numbers.

I think it's a bad weekend for an opening but maybe because of gas prices most didn't travel over the 4th week.

So I'm going to say $93 mil some by DISers going several times.

Still haven't seen Cars and won't till it's out on DVD but for the Pirates movies I make exceptions. I bet alot of others do to. Sure hope it won't dissappoint.

$105 this weekend, $600 total worldwide.
